Do yall think we should give him a new contract so he can to replace Zach Thomas?
As for the coaching situation what do yall think about Rex Ryan the DC for the Ravens

You cant pay him. He is always hurt. He will never live up to whatever contract you give him.

No thanks. Spend the money slotted for him and Zach Thomas on Channing Crowder instead.

I'll miss his blogs, but no. Lets get some new blood in here. The status quo is not getting it done.

He is my favorite candidate, too bad we aren't looking for a head coach. I am hoping Wade resigns and saves all of the heart ache of watching him sleep walk through another year.

Resign him, at worst hes a good depth player but I think he can continue to progress given some playing time. I doubt he sees the field in the middle though.

As for giving Burnett a new contract.....BAAAAHAAAABAAAHAAAA!!!!!

The dude has done crap the whole season, he is a freaking 2nd round bust. I can put a 6th rounder out there and get the same production, so no way in hell do I give Burnett a new contract.

As for Rex Ryan............I doubt he leaves Baltimore for a lateral move, so the only option would be to make him HC and Jerry has made it crystal clear after the game that Wade is getting a pass.

So, no new contract for Burnett and we dont need a HC so the Ryan talk is moot.

I'm shocked by some of the responses. I think anyone who has seen him play when healthy sees he has potential at the very least and at best he's a solid linebacker. He's the best we have in coverage at the linebacker position and yea that includes Ware and Bradie James. But as someone did state he hasn't been healthy much. So where is the market value for him at? I'd like to think we can get him to a pretty favorable contract. But if we're paying based on what we think he can become I think that's where you overpay. Otherwise, i'd give look to resign him. He's still a young guy. Should be in the 25-26 range. We need stability.

There is no way the Dolphins will let him go. Period.

Burnett is too light for an everydown 3-4 ILB, spends too much time on the Injury List, and he completely blew his coverage on the TD to Buckhalter... he's still pretty unreliable at a stage in his career where you'd think he'd surely have "gotten it" by now. JMO

Unless they franchise him (which I highly doubt) he will hit the open market. If he wants to stay there (he played his college ball at Florida) he will but if he's out there, we should at least make the phone call.

I think his attitude is poor and that is actually a bigger issue than his play. He's the type that we don't need in the locker room. I rather have someone like Dansby.

You guys must not remember Kevin Burnett playing lights out in Pittsburgh or covering tightends this year. How many big plays did he give up in coverage? Hmm.. I'll wait for an answer. He didn't miss much time this year. He was better than solid. This guy was bringing serious heat up the middle on blitzes. If he had a monster NT, he would dominate in this defense.

Good luck replacing him in the sub packages. Good luck finding someone with his speed and experience. Your coverage units and blitzes will take a hit.

He may be a candidate for a 1 year contract and then, get paid.

Wade Phillips got more out of Burnett than Parcells ever did. Why did Parcells even draft him?

Oh, yeah. He drafted Bobby Carpenter to be an outside linebacker. Ooops.

I wouldn't resign him, tank or canty. The Roy Williams trade really hurts us because we could have had enough ammo to get Rey Malaugna.

Burnett strikes me as one of those guys who is playing for big money before being a great player. In fact, I believe that's even been mentioned several times by various commentators over the last few years.

He's not one you bring back. He's probably just the opposite -- one that needs to go.

I think your letting his appearance effect your view of him. He looks like a mean guy and looks like he could be a cancer in the locker room but he's not that. He's good locker room guy who's finally been healthy enough to atleast get some games in this season. Hardly a bad guy in the locker room to have.

he only miss 4 games, 3 as a rookie and 1 this year maybe 2 but 5 games in 4 years not bad, plus he's my cousin so I say keep him, if he doesn't leave and go to the 9ers
