My favorite pick in that year's draft.

He has an energy level that is impossible to not notice.

I'm expecting big things in future games.

The depth at LB is impressive. The only position I'm scared to death of is NT. If Ferguson goes down we're in a world of hurt.

Even if he is just a nickel player, his speed should come in handy chasing McNabb for many years to come. And the way they like to spread things, we should be in the nickel a lot against the Eagles...

I thought a while back Burnett made the comment he wanted to put on weight but BP liked him at the weight he currently is because it gives BP flexibility.

It would probably be a problem, but it wouldnt sink the team the way losing Adams last yr did...Ferguson is playing ok, but he is far from an all star calibar player...he's been average to above average this yr at best

i agree with c.l., even as a nickle lb he has tremendous value for us keeping both ellis and ware fresh.

Only worry with Burnett is it looks like he is not going to get much bigger. Parcells commented earlier in the year that he seems to have topped out in the high 230's, which means he will have trouble ever being an every-down LB in the 3-4.

Love him as a nickle LBer, but a 2nd round pick for that is a bit high.

GHow about converting him to a safety? What did Woodson play at? If I recall, he was in the 220s.

He'd still be a backup behind Roy. We have plenty of talent at strong safety. He's right where he should be.

I realize that people are going to have favorite players, but just because one of yours isn't starting doesn't mean he's not a major contributor to the team. Burnett will see plenty of time this year in the nickel and back up roles...right where he's needed the most.

It would be a huge problem and sink our defense much like the loss of Flo last year. You are completely off here.

Ferg has easily been our best d-lineman all year. He is the keystone that holds the front 7 together, and without him we would be really struggling.

Average to above average at best?? What have you been watching??

Burnett was actually a safety originally at Tennessee. They converted him to outside linebacker. That's why he wore #2

I will have to go with this guy. Ferg is eating up the center on almost all of the run plays i have seen. Ferg's not going to put up Stroud like numbers buy any means but this guy is very good at his job, and thats taking up blocks

I said that last year and Glover ended up filling in far better than I could have ever expected.

I think Ratliff might actually be able to fill the nose tackle role if he had to. He may even be the long term developmental guy there.

Just like James was at LSU Burnett was the leader of that Vol defense at Tennessee. Parcells has made a point of going after some of these guys and I like that trend alot.

A couple things you know these leader types are going to bring to the table from the get go are they're going to be a positive influence in your lockerroom and they understand the way the game is supposed to be played. Add some natural talent and an eye dropper full of water and watch out.

We've already seen some of these characteristics in James and I think in due time Burnett's leadership skills will be on display as well. You just can't have to many of these glue guys on your team.

There is a reason we drafted him as high as we did. The dude has a great game and now that he is completely healthy he can start making plays for us. Many started to write him off last year and now look at him.

Does this sound like Bobby Carpenter anyone? You doubters will be rebuked in good time.

This may be true... but have no fear the same doubters will be all over next years crop spouting the same garbage. It's inescapable.

Welll, the size issue can be more flexible I believe if the guy is situational and talented, which maybe the case with Burnett.

It is interesting that he has put up similar numbers to Ware, in limited playing time. What does that say?? You figure it out........
