And he's big. Like his tape.

And with receivers we have in the division that's another reason why I want him. Hopefully he lasts at 60 I want peppers at 28. We just need good all around football players.

Mayock's last ranking had him 3rd at CB given injuries. If he ends up being 3rd or 4th corner off the board it should be early second round area at the latest. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets into the first. I like him a lot.

According to a tweet King put out, he didn't give up a single TD last year (and neither did Sidney Jones either apparently).

I can see our coaches really liking King. He's a natural athlete. He may not be the best tackler but the willingness is there.

Wouldn't be upset with King at 28.

Same here (about coaches liking his athleticism).

I'm not sure where the tackling criticism came from? I'm guessing Broaduss because I've heard him say it a few times and assume others listen to his podcast with Bruglar. I've defended Broaduss to others in the past, but I'm starting to realize he talks out his arse. Of course I can't prove it, but I'm convinced he spouts off these obscure takes just to have something to say sitting next to Bruglar who actually puts in the film work to study all these prospects. I've got no problems at all with King's tackling. In fact, one of the reasons I like him is that he's tough-nosed, physical and willing tackler; one of the primary reasons I couldn't stand Mo was that he was soft and none of those things.

I noticed that he dives a lot and leads with his head.

Like I said though, the will to tackle is there. He plays the run hard, he just needs better technique

Willingness; that's the key. Some guys (specifically corners) don't have it. Mo was better last year but on the whole he was awful throughout his career in that regard.

I love King, just a nice prospect I would be thrilled to have in this secondary!

How many times did he cover an opposite teams #1 considering he was teammates with Jones?

And how many times did he have help over the top with Baker? That dude is a great safety.

I haven't had time to watch him much but he was basically a consensus 3rd rounder leading up to the Combine. Great measurables, but he wasn't hyped nearly this hard before he blew up the Combine.

Just curious, who is your must get corner?

I'm not really sure, there's a lot in this draft and i'm admittedly pretty ignorant of the differences in actual talent, outside of just various draft reports. I've watched a little bit on most guys but nothing to make me say anyone is a "must get" over others.

I'm just wary of taking guys with a 1st round pick when most of the hype seems to come post Combine. Byron was more of a, "no one know who he was" prospect at UConn, but everyone knew who King was. Shrug

I'm not as high on him as others are. I've watched a bit of tape on him and didn't come away as impressed with his tape as his measurables. I never saw him really take away a receiver and he mostly went up against #2s.

I came away with the impression of him being like many other college players who succeed on pure athleticism, and that doesn't translate to the NFL. He often bit on double moves and fakes and was able to recover due to his insane length and athleticism. His hip turns also aren't as smooth on tape as they were in padless drills.

His measurables are certainly hard to ignore and his tape isn't awful but I don't see the hype. I have a late 2nd round grade on him. I prefer Ahkello Witherspoon both as a player and value.

6'3 200 lb CB that ran a 4.43 40, 39.5" vert and had the fastest time of any player at the combine in both 3 cone and 20 yard shuttle. I think people are underestimating how freaky those #'s are...he's going top 20.
