If we don't go with a college HC or a veteran NFL HC, Kevin Stefanski is at the top of my list.

He's been the Vikings since 2006, was the QB coach when Brett Favre had his great 2009 season, was the tight ends coach and helped develop Kyle Rudolph, was the QB coach again in 2017 when Case Keenum played at a high level, and now has taken over as offensive coordinator and has helped Cousins progress.

Only 37, but has been assistant to the HC, QB coach, TE coach, RB coach, and offensive coordinator. Every position he has worked at has seen improvements under him. He was in the running to be HC last year for a couple teams.

we want the usual retreads, or coaches we know we are not getting. so stop looking for new blood or people who can be different.

Stefanski is promising, but in this environment, a coach with skins on the wall as a head coach is necessary. The only chance the Cowboys have of potential sustained success is a coach who will force the Joneses to take a step back and not be the faces of the operation.

Now, I don't think there's a chance in hell that this happens, but it's what is needed.

My concern is the Vikings run game didn't take off til Kubiak was hired on as an offensive advisor.

Oh sure. Bring in yet another Ivy Leaguer being the one we've had for an entire decade worked out so well.
That's right! No more meely mouth Ivey Leaguers!! How bout someone from the school of hard knocks? Or maybe Coach Klein from the Waterboy??

:lmao2:

There's your new head coach. Was at Boise state from 2006-2013 and Dallas loves those Boise State players. Now Jerry will go get their former head coach.

Seriously, we need someone whose schemes are outdated and tired.

Preferably someone with ties to the 90s Championship teams.

If you stick with something long enough, and stack good days on top of each other, and work hard, good things will happen. It's a process.

Personally, in the end, I think Garrett's only true asset and strength was being able to sell Jerry on him being something that he isnt and never could be.

No

I’m sorry, is this not a big enough name for you?

Should we only throw out Urban Meyer and Lincoln Riley?

So, no, I don’t think I will

He's not a bad candidate for a HC job Matt.

Just not this one.

Jerry will walk all over him. This franchise is doomed unless the next HC has enough clout to keep Jerry in the corner.
