Here is another name for the HC after Garrett. He is the offensive coordinator of the Minnesota Vikings, which is one of the best offensive teams in the league. There is already lots of news that he will get offers in the very first week he is available.

He caught me with the way he uses Dalvin Cook and the FB and how creative he is with creating running lanes and designing screens. Even Kirk Cousins has been so effective particularly with the play action and short passes designed on blocks.

When you have players like Zeke and Pollard, it is hard not to be jealous how others use their RBs.

Your thoughts?

Mike Zimmer stated earlier this year that bringing in GARY KUBIAK (Offensive Consultant) was the best thing he’s done. I’m noting taking away from Stefanski because I really don’t know all the facts regarding him, but I’d pump the brakes a little on giving him too much offensive credit in Minnesota.

I prefer a strong leader of men who can command the respect of the Jones. Otherwise they will bully this man into submission and we will get another decade of JG, Campo, Wade, Gailey puppets.

Whoever we choose I just want someone who isnt just happy to be a HC and will walk the company line.

Give me a guy who will get up and walk out if not given the respect from the FO a coach needs to succeed.

Like a few delusional posters here, Jerry was probably so impressed the team showed up for the first time this season he's ready to give Garrett a 10 year extension. I hate to say it, but I think that one game just saved Garrett's job. They could lose badly against the Eagles and skins, but this one win probably cemented Garretts job.

Kubiak is all over that running game. You can see it.

You're willing to bring in a totally new HC who will undoubtedly bring in a whole new system, along with coaches, and unquestionably rebuild the whole team...which will set back the team another 3-4 years and waste Dak's, Zeke's, Jaylon's and other young players' talents while getting rid of the older players? If Garrett is able to take this team far into the playoffs, you're willing to get rid of him, start all over while setting the team back?

Garrett has set the team back 10 years and counting, and he already wasted the careers of Romo, Dez and Witten. What exactly is your point?

I believe it would be a mistake to bring anyone in as HC who is weighted heavily on the offensive side of the ball. I mean is there something wrong with being the #1 offense in the NFL?? We need someone who can demand the respect of the players and the F.O. Someone who can manage a game, motivate, throw a challenge flag for the love of football...Someone who looks like they are involved on the sidelines and not spitting every time his face is shown on camera! Is that an indication he is upset or some crap?

I explained it clearly in my previous post. If Garrett is able to lead this team far into the playoffs, you're still willing to replace him with a new HC who will set back this team another 3-4 years at a minimum due to a new system, new coaches, etc that will waste Dak's, Zeke's and Amari's prime years?

the next HC won't get to be the ultimate head figure here as Sean Payton is with NO. or Belichek in Pats, or even a Pete Carroll level.

Even the great Parcells KNEW that coming in, .but then why did he still agree to be the HC of the Cowboys ?
It was going to be Jerry's sideline no matter what, and Parcell wasn't any less of a leader of men when he departed
than what he was when he came in.

Call it Puppet coach or whatever, but I believe there's a reason why HC job of the Cowboys is going to be so coveted
no matter what the irritated perception is poured upon Jerry among some disgruntled fan base or media hysteria
Even Chuckie Jon Gruden publicly hinted and tried to throw his hat into the next HC pool mix before Garrett was eventually
promoted from OC to HC.

the one thing I am greatly assuming is that if we are going to change and go after a legit HC, a much heralded name brand HC, and it won't be the ways of
hiring the Chan Gailey's and ridiculously laughable Dave Campo's anymore.

No but a new head coach bringing in a guy like kubiak as offensive coordinator would be great.

Would be nice if we got a veteran group of coordinators like buffalo has in Leslie Frazier and Brian Daboll

Kevin Stefanski was already making his impact when Zimmer fired the every pass happy Joe Filippo (sp) from Vikes OC role. and replaced him with Stefanski,
and what stood out was him simply emphasizing the run game a great deal more than Fillippo.

I really dunno how much of Vikes offense is more credit to Kevin Stefanski...and how much is credit to Gary Kubiak, who specializes in slant run game that he learned from
Shanahan, and play action rolls off fake handoffs.
But you do get that there is definite effort to sustain run-pass balance, getting the ball vertically downfield, diversifying to various targets
and much of the QB development and handling seems to be going to Stefanski for the work towards Kirk Cousin, whose TD - INT ratio game has much improved.

If I had to say among the NFL possible coaching ranks, if the Cowboys could be considering a new hot name among upcoming young assistants, I would think Kevin Stefanski
would have to be among the front line choices.

Brian Daboll is not my kind of OC, but Leslie Frazier is one of the better 4-3 scheme DC's around.

Let's make a bet. If Jason Garrett doesn't make the playoffs he's fired. You call the stakes. I'll call anything you want.

From an offensive standpoint, I wouldn't sneeze at bringing in Kubiak. He's flawed like most veteran HC, but his offensive system would go great with the current personnel.

In a heartbeat. No need to rebuild a good team. All ya gotta do is tweak it and coach the stupid off of it.
