Keys To Beat The Eagles *Merge*

There is something about seeing her in Texas stadium playing the Eagles. Underwood in 06, Jessica in 07.

Show up and play........we are the far superior team. I expect the Cowboys to win, and I would hope the team does too.

I'm sure when we play the Rams later this year, there will still be some threads like this, of how are we going to beat the Rams............

QFT.

Offensively I think we have to establish enough of a running game to slow down the blitz and take our shots down field when they present themselfs. One thing I know about Jim Johnson defense he love his CB sitting on the hot routs if we can pick up the blitz there should be some big plays down field for the taking.

Defensively I want to see Dallas playing with controlled aggression, we need to get after McNabb but we can't just allow them to throw out screens or quick passes to Westbrook. The defense also has to be aware of the TE up the middle of the seam, Philly and New York love running that rout on us and we can't be giving L.J. Smith those deep passes down the middle.

Lastly for both of our units we need to cut down on the penalties, don’t give the opponent second chances

I would look to see a heavy dose of Felix Jones as a receiver, esp. in the flats

I think to set the tone early, before the snap on DAL's 1st possession, Flo should rip off Cole's helmet and start chewing on his face. If he's going to false-start, he might as well do it in style. :)

If we can get him in a matchup with the LB on Felix I would attack them there as well. The one routs that does worry me with Philly is that quick pass to the outside. Jim Johnson will normally have the CB cheating up on that rout and when they pick it off there is nothing to stop them for taking it all the way. Some quick double move and taking Philly down field would force them to back off the hot routs.

I would like to see these exotic plays they were talking about.

With Eric Williams now working as Hudson Houck assistant that is not out of the question. :laugh2:

Win in the trenches..

Simple as that.

Offensive Line must protect Romo and open running lanes.

Defense must pressure McNabb and stop the run

Agreed. Pass protect because they do have a good secondary, and get more pressure than they did this past week maybe. I can't imagine us letting them beat up in Big D 2 years in a row. Hopefully, they come fired up and focused.

I said it a little while ago, I would use the draw to slow down Cole

And if we catch them in a max blitz, and time the draw to Felix right....goodbye

I just hope that we practice seriously this week with respect towards the Eagles. I think it should be a blowout, but I don't want the Boys to think like that. In the end, I don't want a dramatic ending like Buffalo. Sure they're sweet but I don't think I can take one this early in the season. I prefer to dominate divisional opponents.

What do you think?

My only  this week is Holland starts instead of Proctor.

I am not sure that is the best thing for Romo. I would rather the G pick up the blitz and at least slow the blitzer down rather than mess up the blitz pickup to begin with.

Holland is more likely to miss the pickup. This week I will be fine with Proctor starting.

Thats bull Proctor starting against the Eagles would be a lot like last year. They don't play a 3-4 and will blitz to his side a lot.

So are you saying Holland is more likely to make the right call after being in our offense for 10 days?

If Holland is ready to go then I'm sure the coaches will put him in if not then it will be Proctor. The key to stopping a blitz is the O-lineman working together it is not about 1 guy

I'm saying Holland is an upgrade and Proctor is a glaring weakness. I am nervous for Romo's health when Proctor is playing on our Line.

He said he would be hopeful there isn't any set backs he gets an extra day so he should be ready.

My concern with Holland is how he will work in unison with the current lineman. When dealing with heavy blitz teams it comes down to the communication of the lineman working together. Hell you send 2 or 3 defenders at LG Holland nor is Proctor going to do the job alone. It comes down to the OL working as a unit.

I think we also need to force some turnovers in addition to not giving any up.

I think we'll beat everyone and win the Superbowl if we do just that!
