Keyshawn/Bledsoe threads merged

I'm not sure it's such a non-issue.

Keyshawn's moniker is "Give me the damn ball..!!"

Drew has served the ball up to him alot and so far it's been win not lose..

..but had it been a close game..it could have been the difference in winning or losing.

We don't know what Drew said..may not know for awhile..but I'm guessing it wasn't anything incriminating..

..something like "well, they sure picked your pocket on that play.."

or something similar and Keyshawn took it to mean he did something wrong.

The fact is, Key was double-covered on that play and I don't think he really expected Drew to throw it and it surprised Key and he just didn't have a chance to get it and pull it in before he was stripped.

Drew would have liked to have it back I'm sure, both the pass and whatever was said on the sidelines.

But there are times Keyshawn just goes too far with stuff he pulls. Last year I remember him blatantly kicking some opponent guy down on the ground after he recovered a fumble/interception and drawing a 15 yd. penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct.

And there are other things he's done since arriving here that makes me mistrust him.

As long as BP is here, I suppose we have to put up with his thug attitiude. But I sure wish we had another big, PR we could play some and sit Key when he pulls this stuff. To me, he's a tinderbox waiting to ignite on this team and cause divisions within it.

Teams know if they can get under his skin, he can be intimidated and lose his composure. Not a good thing for a guy that's supossed to be a LEADER on this team.

And Key sure targeted the wrong guy to vent to in Bledsoe. The guy can easy start looking to others to throw to. Peerless Price at the head of the list if Key goes too far again.

Nobody is bigger than the team. Key has forgotten that. I suspect if that happens again or anthing like it..he'll sit on the bench for several games.

Not even BP will not allow Key to divide this team or be a sizable distraction.

The more successful this team is, the less tolerence BP will have for thug behavior. He's said that many, many times in the past and made significant roster moves to back it up.

Key better watch it. When his mouth out-talks his talent..he's going to have a big surprise. Key needs to remember who is throw him those balls.

Perhaps he'd prefer Henson or Romo at this point...?

What an idiot..Key. keep it up.

I respect your take but think it's over-reactive, particuarly the 'thug behavior' aspect.

Key is very volatile, always was - always will be, Yes, it is incumbent upon him to try and control his emotions. But his fiery nature is a very positive ingredient in the team mix, I think. We NEED it.

IMO Bledsoe, was flat out wrong to say anything at all critical to a ten year vet who hangs his pride on winning, and saying it immediately after that type of play, when the receiver is already abashed. It's humiilating enough to lose the ball in that fashion, on national tv, in front of the home town fans. No one needs the added value of a 'learn to hold on" in full view of the cameras.

A rook or young player, go ahead, and make him aware of what you think he did wrong. But Keyshawn Johnson has earned the privilege of not being talked down to.

You don't condescend to a peer. Had I been Key, I'd have told him to go F himself in no uncertain terms. You don't talk down to and shame a fellow vet publically. And if you feel you have to make a point, you wait til he cools down, and do it privately.

Bledsoe has always had this "I'm never at fault" problen,. THAT is what I hope does not rear its ugly head here, because it colored his previous tenures in NE and Buffalo. He is patronizing by by nature and that's why his particular brand of leadership has never been very successful.

With as good a game as Drew had today, with the score so far ahead, why did Bledsoe even consider making a remark..especially since the play itself was not clear cut on Johnson?

Go be the man with Copper or Rector. That won't fly with Johnson, who has to respect the QB he works with, and expects respect in return.

As Troy said, no big deal, and it will blow over, but it was Drew who was wrong, not Key. Bledsoe is the one who needs the attitude adjustment, if anyone does. My guess is Drew has already apologized.

There is no thuggery here that I see..just a dynamic and charismatic player refusing to be treated like a rookie.

Think that quote will get replayed in Philly before we play them next time?

The 15 yard penalty was because someone laid a late hit on T.G. Keyshawn came to back him up and got flagged. I don't have a problem with that. It was last season for starters.

What I have a problem with is the way he got right in his face, and started rubbin his head all over Bledsoe, emotional or not thats a no-no no matter who you are.

Drew needed to do what he did - this is HIS offense. Chicken littles can take that for what its worth. Key fumbled and was at fault - period. Bledsoe had the balls to get into him. kUDO'S ---- Thats been lacking here for a long, long time....

I disagree with all that crap you just posted. Long winded excuse and using this to hammer on bledsoe. Nice.

Key should take it like a man. No matter what...it was Key that fumbled it. Too short a temper.

If it was me...I would said..."right drew. That was me. Keep them coming htough. I'll make the play."

End of discussion no drama.

Apologize for what?

Autonomy at QB is what we've had since Aikman hung up his cleats. I dont have a problem at all with what Drew did.

If Me had a problem with what was said a simple F you would have sufficed.

Either way, Drews the leader of the team, I dont want him apologizing for it.

KJ's an ex-Jet. What did you think she'd say?

Keyshawn Johnson, Drew Bledsoe, AND Bill Parcells... all 3 of them don't give a **** about it, and they've moved on

leave it to cowboylover and parcellswaterboy to waste their time caring

We'll see if he ever has the balls to do anything like it again, Nors.

But my guess is he will handle Key with kid gloves on from here on in.

This is not, after five short weeks, Drew Bledsoe' team..and he is smart enough to know it.

Did you catch the remarks he made "this game was important to guys who have been here a long time"? That's because he knows enough to give some props to the players whose team this really is..like Dat Nguyen, like Larry Allen, like Greg Ellis, and like Flozell Adams.

Key has been here just one year longer than Bledsoe, but both are caretakers at their positions, and would do well to keep that in mind.

Let's see, after Drew's next pick or sack, LA giving him the business. Or Flo. Or even Dan.

But they won't..just as Terry said nothing last week when the final play ended with a ball spiked to the turf in front of him.

ALL players make mistakes and it is up to the coaches to call them out, not players in the uni for five mere weeks, regardless of their positions.

Bledsoe ain't Troy Aikman - he's caretaker - til he's earned his stripes - shut up and throw the ball.

And for once, some time down the road, take some blame for something. It goes a long way in being both respected and liked.

Bledsoe after this incident is clearly in charge of this offense.

And from a Vegas front.....

Bledsoe would kick Key's *** in a fight. I LOVE that Bledsoe got into him. Team needs to react and Key steps into line....

Dollars to donuts, Drew never does it again.

That's the end of the discussion.

For what it's worth, I think a lot of this is coming from some serious desire and competitiveness. I would almost guarantee that if everything had happened exactly the same way but instead of being picked and ran back for the touchdown and the ball had fallen harmlessly to the ground - even if Drew had said the same thing, I doubt Key would have been that agressive about it.

I don't think any of this is an issue though. I think Bill was right. He's got two great competitors. Both guys were fine afterwards. It was just a heat of the moment type of thing.

LTN

Just the opposite Drew owned Key in that battle. Who fumbled? Who was right? Bledsoe earned his stripes and is taking this team. Key after his Tampa issues needs discipline - JMO

Infact we may be a better team with Crayton and Price....

oh and by the way guys, Troy Aikman during the confrontation dismissed it as nothing and said "nobody should look into this too much, it's just all part of the game."

Bill Parcells, Drew Bledsoe, Keyshawn Johnson AND Troy Aikman have moved on

end of discussion

You are the queen of end of discussion - LOL

Drew is going to do it again - He got in the face of a guy who made a critical fumble! Great leadership - something lacking in Dallas for 10 years!

Go Drew! LTN and Miki - this has to suck all the success Drew is living!
