He'll always be a Cowboy to me. I loved seeing him in the silver and blue.

He will always be considered a mercenary for hire ala Rogers Clemens to me.

No HOF for you, meshawn... you were a GREAT, and I mean great possession reciever...but not enough TD's and his total stats look better than it really was.

I hope he can keep away the comparisons of himself to great recievers to only people that were as fast as him; which means NOBODY, considering just about every other player at wideout is faster than he is now.

Good luck Keyshawn, I am sure you will do well.

Key was never a speed WR and many other greats did not have great speed. Steve Largent did not have speed but is one of the greats to play the game. Key game was an outstanding possession WR who made difficult catches over the middle and was willing to take the big hits in the process. I don't know if he will ever make it to the Hall but the man had talent.

Until his remarks about Tony I liked him. Now he's just another media hack that has a national job at the expense of a more qualified individual.

I remember when Michael Irvin was working for ESPN and he interviewed Keyshawn and Keyshawn boasted that he would have better career stats than Irvin.

K. Johnson's stats: 814 receptions for 10,571 yards and 64 touchdowns
M. Irvin's stats: 750 receptions for 11,904 yards and 65 touchdowns

Well Keyshawn does have more receptions, but thats because he is too slow and caught a lot of those 3 yard slants from Brad Johnson in Tampa.

Don't get me wrong I loved Keyshawn as a Cowboy, but he wasn't half the receiver that Michael Irvin was. If not for his spinal injury I think Irvin would have still have been playing at a high level unlike Keyshawn.

Judging recievers by their stats for HOF measurement is very difficult.

Look at Lynn Swann: his numbers are atrocious comaratively, even to third-string wideouts like Wayne Chrebet comparatively....but that doesn't exactly mean that Chrebet is HOF material now, is he?

Art Monk only had three pro bowl appearances and only four 1,0000 yard seasons in fifteen nfl campaigns. Heck, he wasn't even the leading recieving leader on his team occasionally. But that still doesn't mean that Art isn't HOF worthy. He has had so many clutch catches that he is deserved of HOF status ( I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT I AM SUPPORTING AN NFL PLAYER)

Irvin and Keyshawn have almost identical stat markings; however, can any of us deny that Irvin was the most important player of the two? Stats are going to be so inflated (even though they are already) in the passing game, what with all the qb's throwing little checkdown passes to beef up their accuracy and qb ratings... Terry Bradshaw wasn't the most accurate qb, but he also loved to chuck the ball up in the air alot more than we do today IMO.

Keyshawn also played 8 more games than Mike as well.

In that interview you mentioned, he told Mike that " Michael Irvin never had any records or led the league in anything"

Uhhh... No Keyshawn, actually he led the NFL in receiving in 91 and has the NFL record for 100 yard games in a season as well as consecutive 100 yard games in a season with 7.

It was YOU who never led the league in anything, and I'm glad you'll never make the hall of fame.

Personally, I don't think making a clutch play should put you in the HoF. I think it can help! I think the first thing that should be looked at is your average production over your career limited by the overall length of your career. (meaning, if you played 3 years and had three great years that won't make you an HoF player) Maybe their should be a minimum required playing time; say 8-9 years. Divide those years, by your total production and then set a mark for what you accomplish.

Like Michael Irvin. Some say, his stats arn't quite what they think they should be. He did play 11 season. (two of them didn't even equal a single season of games combined) yet he still averaged over 1,000 yards a season for every single season he played. Top it off with 5 Pro Bowls, and 3 Super Bowls, and 90s All-Decade Team. It's clear Irvin dominated the game.

Art Monk averaged less than 800 yards a season. He did win 2 Super Bowls, but one he didn't even play in. Monk attended 3 Pro Bowls. While I'm not against Monk making the HoF, he wasn't in the class of Irvin. Although, whomever filled in his Wikipedia article brings up the point that Monk has more yards than Irvin and yet Monk was passed over, they just forget to point out who was far more of a dominate player.

Not bad for a kid from the wrong side of the tracks who lived out of his mom's car, was shot in the leg in a drive-by, and spent some time im youth detention camps for fencing stolen goods. He's gone from there to here and gives back more to his old "hood" than most people know in hopes of making it better place, along with making a few bucks dont get me wrong.

3 probowls, a ring and caught atleast one pass in EVERY game he played. Not a HOF receiver, lacked the speed to make him a true #1. No he wasnt the fastest or the greatest but he definitely brought heart and a fire to the game.

Say what you will about his draft coverage, yeah it wasnt the greatest. I listened to him every week on his show on Sirius and he definitely voices his opinions on wht goes on and how it is, according to him. He's already come out and said he'll call it like he see's it. Can we say he'll be the NFL version of "Sir Charles"

Enjoy your retirement Key

The last person in this league that I wanna hear talk...is Keyshawn. Loved him as a player (especially with us) but the second that moron opens his mouth it makes me want to punch a television.

More continuing reason to never again turn the channel to ESPN if you ask me.
