Is Romo actually changing the play or are they using this to throw the defense off due to his history of using the audible to option out of run plays? There were several times when he said Kill, Kill, Kill... and they ran. Did he really switch a pass play to run or were they just using his history to bluff the defense????

He changed the play based on defensive in his case run.

Yeah, I noticed that a few times. I heard him say kill and I was like "cmon, run it" and they did run it. Happened a lot. I think they're just messing with people now. They're using the extreme overanalyization that comes with being a Cowboy to their advantage.

They probably have two different types of run plays called in the huddle. One that goes left or right. Then Romo decides which one to go with based on the alignment of the D.

A kill play is one which they give two plays and the QB changes it to the second based on how the defense looks. It is not necessarily run or pass for either the first or the kill call. We just run the ball more now and Romo is buying in.

I know what a kill play is. I was just wondering if they are actually changing the play or are they using as a bluff.

Could be the case.

This season, "Kill, Kill, Kill" is not always an audible. Sometimes it means nothing. Sometimes it means don't change the play.

Prior to this season, it almost always meant change from run to pass.

And teams were keying on it.
It was obvious.

I'm glad the coaching staff noticed and decided to make it a decoy.

Very smart move.
