Kinda funny--NFL's "Not Worth It" FAs

Five of the last 8 games of 2003 Carter threw for 200+ yards while Hambrick had zero 100 yard games. In fact, he averaged less than 40 yards per game against the Eagles,Giants,Commanders,Dolphins,Panthers and Saints. Where is the offensive balance, considering Carter was averaging over 200 yards per game? It's easy to expose weaknesses in any qb if he doesn't have any help. Carter had only 15 starts prior to 2003, he was practically a rookie in terms of playing time, whereas Bledsoe is getting the bad offensive line excuse again here. Buffalo officials admitted that they had some offensive line problems, but that doesn't excuse Bledsoe for holding the ball too long. If he held the ball too long, that tells you that he had plenty of time to throw and couldn't find an open receiver, yet didn't throw the ball away. That's inexcusable for a 12 year veteran, yet Carter doesn't get any breaks here playing with a very average supporting cast and having little experience. Just try and be a little bit fair will you.

I guess we all just imagined that 189 yard game Hambrick had in Washington?

So much for ZERO 100 YARD GAMES.

Carter lost 9 games in 2002 for having a meltdown, that in hindsight very likely was drug related, but it was not any of his fault.:jerk:

It is funny.

But it would be a lot funnier if three of the "Not Worth Its" hadn't so recently been the focal points of our offense.

Correct.

Agreed.

But how would he have faired over an entire season? Guarantee those numbers would have plummeted with more atts.

Some of those guys are pretty sad. However, they aren't sitting on the edge of that steep cliff known as "NFL suspension." That probably has more to do with it than talent if you ask me.

Nfl suspension. He's only failed one drug test back in 2003, the Nfl doesn't count the test that Dallas gave him, as it was illegal. The next time Carter fails a NFl drug test, he will get a four game check fine, not suspension. He's eligible to play for any team from day one of this season, not like Ricky Wiiliams.

Entire season. He threw 505 times which was top 5 in attempts back in 2003,does that sound like a guy you don't trust to throw the ball and his completion percentage was good as Bledsoe's with a worser supporting cast. Bledsoe wishes he had the kind of season in 2003 that Carter had.

The number of failed tests is secret until you receive a suspension, you EVER GOING TO GET SOMETHING CORRECT?

They never had a league official say where he was at in the program, all they said was he was in the program, because the union was trying to nail us for cutting him because of it.;)

I'm the last guy who's going to defend Bledsoe at this point because I have my concerns about him, but this love you have for anything and everything Quincy Carter is mind-boggling!!

Carter is eligible for a FOUR-GAME SUSPENSION and game check fine. You are flat wrong about him not being eligible for a suspension. Look at Onterrio Smith. First failed test, nothing. Second failed test, he was out four games last year. Third failed test, he's out this whole season.

Blindly defending Quincy Carter at every turn is difficult enough in itself. But doind so without knowing simple NFL rules or facts makes your job even harder if you ask me.

And just think my buddy Nors spent a lot of time pimping Quincy and George. Hmm.

I will defer to LTN for confirmation on the Jet fan on the street feelings on this. Unless you can substanciate this claim on your own.

Alexander, I try NOT to talk about the Jets here..tho I admit seeing it constantly said that Carter made Moss, or that Q did anything but a mediocre job last year in NY is getting on my nerves.

But since you asked - there were mixed feelings when Q was signed, and mixed when he played. But I have yet to come across one who did not pray for Chad's quick return last year...and he was rushed back last year, with an injury that was much more serious than the Jets originally let on....for a reason.

Q was tentative in the Hackett O, and tho it was scaled back considerably for him (no slap at Q, Hackett has a Manhattan phone book size playbook), he looked lost in it. It's a playbook predicated on accuracy.

'Nuff said.

Jay Fiedler, now Penny's backup, was the 'enemy' as the Phins QB, but his signing was warmly greeted by the vast majority of the Jets fanbase.

To the credit of that fanbase, there was little vituperation regarding Q's relapse during the playoff. A lot of sympathy. At the same time, I saw no requests at my old haunts to bring him back.

None, not even from the small segment of Jets fans who remained VT loyalists and call Chad "Noodle Arm". ;)

Exposed. You mean like the way Pennington was exposed against the Steelers twice and the Pats. Pennington's road record was 2-4, Carter's 2-0 and with a banged up C.Mart at that.

We all know he's all world. We let a future HOF'er get away and this franchise will regret it for the rest of it's days. Give it a rest...we know.
