If we're looking for a pass rushing OLB high in the draft (which I don't think we will be), give me Robert Quinn over Von Miller all day.

Quinn is an athlete with the hips to make the transition.

^^^^^^

what he said.

Yep...

I am leaning towards peterson,we cant pass on an elite cb especially with our starters being so inconsistent.
Wanting and being able to have are two very different things.

I'd love to see Patrick Peterson come down to us. He'd help out a lot. But I don't him falling down that far.

Out of the likely picks, I'd love to see Derek Sherrod end up in a Cowboys' jersey. Got to the the kid play a lot. He's impressive.

Where's the CB from Florida? Can't think of his name right now.

Janoris Jenkins

If we're looking at CB's, then I'd trade down around 15-20 and take Harris. However, when all is said and done, he won't be there. It wouldn't surprise me if he went before Prince after his workouts.

Janoris Jenkins is his name and I woudn't want to touch him anywhere in the first 25-27 picks.

He's a smurfy CB who doesn't match well with today's increasingly larger WRs.

He's listed at 5-11 (same height as Revis). As long as he measures at a legit 5-10 (not 5-9 3/4, but 5-10), he'll be fine

Janoris Jenkins. On my last mock (not posted), headed to Detroit for pick #5.

You couldn't be more wrong in your analysis. He's matched up with best SEC weekly. AJ Green and Julio Jones didn't do squat against him. Very good in run support as well. A physical corner.

Derek Sherrod is an interesting prospect to me if they are in the 10 range...
I'd rather take Tyron Smith. He has more upside. He would probably need to sit on the bench for a couple of years though.

Okay, let's simplify this, where do you see Janoris Jackson being drafted (a 4-5 pick range...)?

I don't think he projects as a no.1-type of cornerback in the NFL.

Also, going back to '09, when Alabama played Florida, Jenkins was lined up primarily on Marquis Maze not Julio Jones (not saying he didn't cover him, but it's offbase to paint it like Jenkins was locked up on Jones all game).

*BTW, none of this is meant to be antagonistic, if you like Janoris Jenkins I'm not going to try to sway your opinion. I'm not that high on him obviously for various reasons.

We'll have a good chance at a top defensive player, picking around the 7th or 8th spot. IMO if there's a top notch defensive lineman available, they need to take him. Spears will be a FA and Olshansky needs to be replaced. They can look for OL or DB help in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, or free agency even.

Smith and Casey both said after Saturday's win over UCLA they were "50-50" on whether to stay for their senior seasons at USC or to enter the draft, although Smith said earlier Saturday that he was "leaning toward" returning to USC. Smith also said he would decide by the end of this week

Smith, 6-foot-5, 285 pounds, is significantly smaller than the NFL prototype at either of the tackle spots. But his quickness and agility are a lot better than the average tackle coming out of college. With a good pre-draft workout season, it's not hard to see Smith finding his way into the second or third rounds.

D'Brickashaw Ferguson

Considered an undersized offensive tackle after playing at 295 pounds during his senior year at Virginia,[1] Ferguson officially weighed in at 312 for the NFL combine.[3]

Ferguson started his college career listed at 260 pounds (118 kg), often dropping to 245 pounds (111 kg) through the regular season.

As an offensive tackle, Ferguson's talent is found in his lower body strength, athleticism and flexibility. This athleticism and flexibility is further evidenced in his attaining a black belt in Shotokan karate and brown belt in taekwondo.[citation needed] Adding to that ability is his natural build, as Ferguson has an armspan of 87 inches

That's the thing, I think he measures around the shorter side of 5'10" max.

I was going to put him some of my mocks except I never heard of the kid

hell some of the mocks have him going top 25

and I hate Florida so never watched them this year

I've heard of him and seen him play.

I think the mistake a lot of people make (not saying you) is they look at early projections from different draft guides or the Web and think those projections are rock solid.

I always tell people to take them with a grain of salt, because half the players you see on that list won't even sniff the 1st round come draft time.

Players like Troy Smith and Colt McCoy come to mind. I think you'll see Marcel Dareus drop dramatically (relatively speaking) from where he was projected by many as a Top 3 pick.

One poster on here said he had Jenkins going no. 5 overall, which I think is far-fetched.
