I think these guys create movement to keep interest. Otherwise it can get repetitive and a little boring.

Charlton drops half a round from mid March just because.

Yeah I always wondered that...we're 3 weeks til the draft and all of a sudden a guy rises or drops dramatically? How and why? All of the tape should be watched by now and for the most part all work outs are done. Unless a guy does something dumb and gets arrested I don't see any logical reason why someone's board would drastically change other than shuffleing a handful of guys up or down a few spots. But you're right, if Mel put out more or less the same board 5 weeks in a row no one would click.

Kiper does that. Practically everyone does that. You would think the boards wouldn't fluctuate much, but "stock" is part of the industry and even silly things can cause variance.

If you go back and look at production in the pros and some of the listings published right at the end of the season, you sometimes see that is a better indicator of talent than even those done the night before the draft. Those predict draft order, not necessarily what the observer saw "on tape". Some of them don't even look at tape and just regurgitate what they see.

There are times things like late injuries and character issues cause tumbles. It also is simply a case of hype not being able to sustain itself. It is a fascinating process, but you will drive yourself crazy if you want a rational explanation for it.

Keep in mind that some of these rankings are driven by where they think a player will be drafted. The later it gets in the process the more info these talking heads accumulate from NFL teams. They often get more accurate over time.

That's fine with me. Hopefully teams draft those two ahead of him. I'll gladly call his name in at 28.

I still think there's an outside shot.

Taco and Takk have more of the quick step appeal. And you have excellent 3-4 prospects in Watt, Reddick and Bowser. Barnett is the superior football player. Just Witten was vs. LJ Smith and Bennie what's his name.

Joppuru?

The drafts best pass rusher at 22.....LOL. If that happened I would swap a second for a forth to move up 6 slots and get that guy.

The mysterious disappearance of Marlon Humphrey continues...wonder what happened?

He is very raw as a RS sophomore. His recognition in zone coverage, play action, and the like needs work. He is more polished in his technique than Jackson but he needs work on timing to look for the ball and pressing off the snap too. I don't know enough about the footwork to really comment on that unless it is egregiously bad.

His physicality is something I imagine our coaching staff would be big on. He is by far the best tackling and pursuing CB in this draft. He has a natural talent in man coverage as well which is not quite so endearing in Dallas.
