To me, it's more about how the addition of Clowney does less to improve the quality of the team than a potential franchise QB would be.

Take a team like Jacksonville: Gabbert is a bust, fan engagement is dismal and they lack a franchise face. Bridgewater makes a lot of sense.

So you're ruling it out because you believe Jerry hates it. But of course if he does hate it, it didn't stop him from using 2 of the last 3 1st round picks on the OL.

I won't pretend to know how he feels about it. I'll just look at it in terms of need and G most definitely should be at the top of that list going into the offseason. Now it's just a question of what's there when we pick.

That's why I said it depends on what's there when we pick. People get too hung up on BPA. It's probably not the norm to have one player graded ahead of all the others. You probably have two, three or 4 players with similar grades at the top of your board when you pick. That's when I think need plays a part.

I wasn't saying the Cowboys absolutely have to take a G early in the draft. I just scoffed at the notion that you can cross that position off as a possibility. It's a huge glaring need. We need more than one G added, actually.
