Mel Kiper gave the Cowboys a B- for the draft. Reported that the 2nd and 3rd round picks were surprisng since their were other pressing needs but later picks made up for it.

He gave the Eagles a B- and the Giants an A-

He based the grades on needs, value and picks.

I would absolutely give the Giants an A. Pisses me off to say that.

I would say a B is legit for us. Frustrated that we passed on Kenrick Ellis, but we were going for high character guys so I understand it.

I love all three of our Oline picks and the Murray pick. I'm torn on the Bruce Carter pick, as I don't know if he can even contribute this year.

Yeah the Giants got some guys I would be rooting for if they were on other teams.

B or B- is fair, I thought the smith and carter moves were solid, the murray pick was a head scratcher.

Kendrick Ellis is facing felony assault charges at Hampton. He was kicked off the team in SC. No thanks to him.

Greg Jones has a name but I read several different reports that said he is not anything close to being the player his pub would lead you to believe. In fact the reports I read were very negative.

I saw him up close in his bowl game and he was manhandled by the Bama offense. He did nothing all day.

exactly, mentioned that he's going on trial in June or July and if found guilty could spend 20 years in prison......want no part of him, trouble with a capital T

My apologies to everyone about the NFC East team grades.
He gave the Giants a B-, the Commanders and Eagles a C+.

The Lions and Bengals received the highest grades with A-.

the pick that saved the giants draft was James Brewer IMO . o-line was a big need and this kid could be a solid player for them . Also Jernigan is a very nice player considering that Steve Smith had microfracture surgery and nicks and manningham seem to always be banged up they needed another wr. good pick.

B- is fair. Dont see how the Eagles got the same grade though, I thought their draft was pretty crappy. They had 2 reaches in the 2nd(Jarret) and the 4th(Henery).

Mel Kiper? Who really cares what he thinks.

anytime someone from ESPN gives Cowboys a positive grade its something to note

The Bruce Carter pick was an admission that the Burnett/Carpenter LB position was not filled properly. It hurt us nearly as much as cutting Hamlin and putting Ball in at FS did. The Eatman mock draft makes me think the first three picks were scripted before hand.

My take. My initial thoughts on our draft were that I loved our first round pick, questioned our 2nd and 3rd round picks, and loved our third day picks.

After thinking about it and reading all I can about our picks, I've come to the conclusion that we should get a B+ or so for our efforts. From what I've read, we got value with pretty much every pick we made. Like many other Cowboy fans, I was disappointed with some of the positions we drafted, but you can't discount the talent of the players we drafted. It's absolutely obvious that our front office went into this draft with several things in mind. They knew they were getting rid of a few players such as Barber, possibly Columbo, and possibly Brooking. Like everyone else I think Barber is absolutely gone. We replaced him with a much more athletic and explosive RB that can also be a big threat in the passing game. Columbo and Brooking might or might not be kept on as backups, but regardless, their time will be brief. We addressed our biggest weakness with two OL picks that include the best overall OL in the draft and another player that by all accounts is tough, physical, and very coachable. We got a tremendously atheltic ILB, which we've needed for a few years now. We got a WR and a CB that I have to admit I knew nothing about, but the things I've read about them are VERY pleasing. We got a FB that I do know and he's a tremendous upgrade. Another guy that will give it his all.

I have to think the front office went into this draft knowing they were going to resign Free (a given), two of our free agent DEs, and a starting safety (most likely Huff). If these things happen, I'd give our draft a solid A, because we would have drafted the best players available, knowing we had some of our "needs" already taken care of. Don't forget that Brent-Price is really a part of this year's draft in reality. The bottom line is we got several really good players at the positions they man. Can't argue with that.

What about when they give Dallas negative grades?

Worth noting?
