You could be right. For the team to justify taking Slater at 10, they have to view him as a Tackle. Now if they trade back and got him plus and extra pick, the position value wouldn't matter so much.

If we take Slater over Surtain I will curse loudly. I know he’s the future at tackle, but slide McGovern to LG. OL will be fine

Agreed. Surtain would fit a much bigger need for us, and he would give us a scary CB combo.
