Kiper Mock 3.0 3/18/25

Williams vs Vaughn for the 3rd back on the roster position with Leupke a very nice FB in the mix . Vaughn could very well return and thrive if used correctly .
Frankly, I think it would be Sanders vs. Vaughn. I think Sanders might be cooked like Elliott and Cook were last year. Williams is different. His average has been lower the last couple of years coming off his injury but he doesn't have a lot of wear and tear. There's still plenty of juice in the body.

Of course, I'm hoping we draft two backs in the class, so it might be Draft pick vs. Sanders vs. Vaughn.

You may be right Sanders is only 27 but something happened in Carolina he was a non factor . Vaughn could still be option 3 gadget screens pitch outs reverses something to lift an offense and rip off chunk yards .

I don't hate Hampton at all but I feel we can take a RB in a trade down situation be it Hampton or Henderson. TMAC and Jeanty is what I am hoping for if they don't like CBs at 12.

I do really like Hampton however I Would rather have
Mike Green
T Mac
Egbuka

This is two weeks that Kiper has Hampton for our pick.

I seen one video, maybe a CBS but cannot remember that had the Cowboys drafting up to Fourth overall and taken Hunter if he falls to that spot.

I noticed later that Broaddus brought up that scenario on one of the Fans radio show. Getting one of the top WRs and CBs so essentially two players.

Said by the trade chart it would probably take swapping this years first round pick. Giving up this years second round pick and next years third round pick.

I do like Hampton more than most. Is he super special, probably not, but I like him a lot. He reminds me a little of Chubb, though I doubt he's that good.

I don't think this happens, though. Mockers always jigger things too heavily towards filling obvious perceived holes, and the draft usually doesn't work that way. In this case, everyone had Jeanty to us for so long, and now that he may go earlier they just put the next guy up there.

I think we trade down, then take a WR or DT.

The fact that his college offensive line coach is now our OL coach and knows what he can do might help Vaughn find a role.

I wanted to at least partially blame Sanders' failure in Carolina on the Panthers' offensive line, but as someone rightly pointed out, Chubba Hubbard had a big year behind that line, averaging 4.8 YPC to Sanders' 3.7.

Now, it doesn't seem to me that Sanders should be worn down since he hasn't had more than 179 carries in more than one of his six years, but it's hard to say when a running back will hit the wall.

JMO but I was never that impressed with Sanders even in his prime. And now he's older and has more mileage on him. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't even make the team.

Williams probably will because he was paid more, and he might do okay in small doses, but I don't expect much out of him, either. We need to get a back in our first three picks.

Hampton running 4.46 is NOT a home run hitter. Zeke ran a 4.45 and wasn't running away from DBs.

What if Hampton ends up breaking Emmitt's all time rushing record?
What a clown show that was. Emmitt stayed 3 years too long and Jerry forgot about winning just so Emmitt could get the record. My worst years as a fan was Emmitt and his silly record.

It was like when Andre Reed was force fed just so he could have his place in history, cept Reed called them out for it.

Emmitt took it and ran, no pun.

I think Williams can come in as a power back to give the starter we get a break and to run out the clock. I don't see a role for Sanders, but think we got him because we needed to replace two backs and so we at least have bodies at the position so we can pretend that we don't have to draft one early.

Zeke ate his speed up by focusing on being a power back. 4.46 is enough speed to be a home run hitter. Derrick Henry ran a 4.54 at the combine and has plenty of long runs.

BTW, no way we pass up McMillan to draft Hampton....
If we draft Hampton at 12, I want a full recording of the 'War Room' discussion as that smacks of another 'reach', like Mazi. I want each of those involved to face the camera and give their opinion on the pick.
It's not as if we've only one hole and we're a player away....if there was ever a time we need BPA, then its now.
If they think Hampton's that guy, they need to be sacked, especially as in a season that we're mailing it in they could pick up Dobbins, fits the criteria, high (ish) draft pick, hard inside runner, injury prone.
(If we trade back id be ok with the pick).

I like the player, but I’m taking Harmon or Green (with plenty of due diligence because right now I think he’s a risk) and calling it a day.

Taking the 2nd best running back in the draft, in a stupid deep RB draft, just doesn’t make me feel great.

Pulling the trigger on Jeanty is much more tempting.
You wouldn't take the 2nd best rb at 12 but you'd take the 5th(ish) best dt ?

Will Mcclay wanted mazi

That's completely the wrong way to look at it. For example, last year the Cowboys took the 8th best OL at 29.

And no, the Cowboys shouldn't take the 2nd best RB (or even the best RB) at 12. This draft is loaded with them. Get one on day 2.

He's very good and I think he'll be a good pro. I'd love to draft the kid, but I don't want him (or any RB) at 12.
In Mel's scenario I'd have to think they would take Tet or Stewart, right? Maybe W Campbell if they decide to go O-line.
I would try hard to drop back (no more than 6-7) spots and see who's still there. There's a lot of good football players (at needed positions) still available on his list.
