Kiper Mock 3.0 3/18/25

Williams vs Vaughn for the 3rd back on the roster position with Leupke a very nice FB in the mix . Vaughn could very well return and thrive if used correctly .
Frankly, I think it would be Sanders vs. Vaughn. I think Sanders might be cooked like Elliott and Cook were last year. Williams is different. His average has been lower the last couple of years coming off his injury but he doesn't have a lot of wear and tear. There's still plenty of juice in the body.

Of course, I'm hoping we draft two backs in the class, so it might be Draft pick vs. Sanders vs. Vaughn.

You may be right Sanders is only 27 but something happened in Carolina he was a non factor . Vaughn could still be option 3 gadget screens pitch outs reverses something to lift an offense and rip off chunk yards .

I don't hate Hampton at all but I feel we can take a RB in a trade down situation be it Hampton or Henderson. TMAC and Jeanty is what I am hoping for if they don't like CBs at 12.

I do really like Hampton however I Would rather have
Mike Green
T Mac
Egbuka

This is two weeks that Kiper has Hampton for our pick.

I seen one video, maybe a CBS but cannot remember that had the Cowboys drafting up to Fourth overall and taken Hunter if he falls to that spot.

I noticed later that Broaddus brought up that scenario on one of the Fans radio show. Getting one of the top WRs and CBs so essentially two players.

Said by the trade chart it would probably take swapping this years first round pick. Giving up this years second round pick and next years third round pick.

I do like Hampton more than most. Is he super special, probably not, but I like him a lot. He reminds me a little of Chubb, though I doubt he's that good.

I don't think this happens, though. Mockers always jigger things too heavily towards filling obvious perceived holes, and the draft usually doesn't work that way. In this case, everyone had Jeanty to us for so long, and now that he may go earlier they just put the next guy up there.

I think we trade down, then take a WR or DT.

The fact that his college offensive line coach is now our OL coach and knows what he can do might help Vaughn find a role.

I wanted to at least partially blame Sanders' failure in Carolina on the Panthers' offensive line, but as someone rightly pointed out, Chubba Hubbard had a big year behind that line, averaging 4.8 YPC to Sanders' 3.7.

Now, it doesn't seem to me that Sanders should be worn down since he hasn't had more than 179 carries in more than one of his six years, but it's hard to say when a running back will hit the wall.

JMO but I was never that impressed with Sanders even in his prime. And now he's older and has more mileage on him. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't even make the team.

Williams probably will because he was paid more, and he might do okay in small doses, but I don't expect much out of him, either. We need to get a back in our first three picks.
