1. Tennessee - Laremy Tunsil T Mississippi
2. Cleveland - Carson Wentz QB North Dakota St.
3. San Diego - Ronnie Stanley T Notre Dame

4. Dallas - DeForest Buckner DE Oregon
A good combination of clear need and a really good player available. Buckner brings versatility and the ability to disrupt the pocket.

Free-agency effect: There are some decent pass-rushers in free agency, but the Cowboys don't have the cap space to win bidding wars

7. San Francisco - Jared Goff QB California
8. Miami - Myles Jack OLB UCLA
9. Tampa Bay - Vernon Hargreaves CB Florida

Come on, Kiper.

Goff at 4 ~ his pedigree & production in college is worth the selection.
Don't talk yourself out of the QB selection, don't get cute with the belief you can select a "developmental" QB in later rounds, & don't buy in to the assumed stability of the QB position in Dallas.
The draft grade separation between Wentz and Goff is minuscule.

How do we not have cap room to sign a DE? Kipper should at least do a little homework before putting something like this together

Kip knows players, he's got my respect because it's obvious he has a lot of passion for the draft and does what he can to know about draftees.

But, he's pretty terrible at team and salary cap evaluation and he likes to get cute with his pet cats.

It's funny. He can tell you whether a player likes boxers or briefs, but in regards to team fit I think he just prints out a table of available salary cap, and then throws a player at what he perceives to be every teams absolute biggest need even if that player isn't close to BPA.

Buckner might not even be on our board.

Ramsey ticks all of Garrett's boxes as a player and person. I don't believe we'd take Buckner over Ramsey (or Goff, Jack, and Bosa). We already know Marinelli would actively campaign against taking a DL that provides minimal rush. I think we'd even take Lawson, Treadwell and maybe Floyd over him.

Story that Broaddus has told multiple times on the draft show.

The first time Mel did the mock with Buckner to the Cowboys...Broaddus said one of the scouts saw it and asked Broaddus...when did we switch to a 3-4.
The idea being that they, or at least that specific scout at that time, thought of Buckner as a player suited for the 3-4 instead of the 4-3.

Now with that said...he also said that Buckner did say that the Cowboys met with Buckner at the combine so maybe he is in play after all.

Finally mock with Staley to SD. Never understood how Stalley was a top 10 prospect but not good enough for 3.

He was a steal! Very excited to see him this season. He was so raw last year but he showed up on tape in almost every game.

He has the best versatility of anyone on our DL. I think he could really come on in year two. Glad we got him on a two year deal. When he was at 3T next to Tank it was one of the best DL combinations we have had in a while.
