Kiper Mock 4.0 4/13/21

I'm quoting this twice because it's that good.

You all need to read it. Maybe it's the cure for your disease. Or maybe at least it can be the vaccine to stop the spread.

Western, you're pretty much my best friend in life now, bro. My likes are your likes.

If we had New England's 2022 first round draft pick they would win the Super Bowl and that pick would be #32 .

What's interesting is despite Caleb Farley needing a back transplant Mel still has him going one pick after the Cowboys here to the Cardinals at 16.

I think the back transplant just makes him more attractive to Jerry. We like players Jerry can relate to so he can feel more comfortable in the locker room. Jerry would sure love to have someone Caleb around to talk about health issues and maybe share some of his own....... swap war stories and warm smiles over coffee.

If he's there in the second round (where we tend to pick our wounded prospects), he's a Cowboy.

That idiot ex Jets GM was on Get Up this morning saying the Cowboys should except two second round picks and the 15th pick for a trade up with the Patriots. If only Jerrah was not so stupid.

Mel Kiper is a ******, there is no way Fields is dropping to 10, so you can forget this trade scenario all together.

Predicting the draft seems to be more like Madame Cleo's work than something tangible. So Kiper digs and digs then comes out looking foolish more often than not.

However, this is his proposition. I'm certain you've heard it since this is not late breaking.

Dallas moves to 15 in a trade with the Patriots.
Dallas gets 15 and the Patriots next year's number one pick.

By the mysterious chart that gives a quantitative assignment to make since out of trades, this looks like the Patriots over pay for their QB.

It it suggested in an article, link posted below, that Jaycee Horn will be there for Dallas at 15. So the second best corner, as people imply, will be on the board through the picks of the Giants and Eagles.

I see no logic in this trade. At first blush you see a first round pick. But what does that do this year? It also assumes the Chargers and the Vikings would not be interested in Horn.

With the cap structure still up in the air until 2023, and the big contracts this team has on the horizon growing in 2022. I just fail to see the advantage this gives Dallas.

Opinions?

Yes, I know. Kiper is an idiot. Save your breath.

THis seems like a fan run site.

I think that it's pretty straight forward. If the Cowboys don't feel that there is a huge difference between Surtain and Horn, it makes great sense to make that trade and get an additional 2021 1st rounder.

But nothing is guaranteed, especially Horn still being there 5 picks later. And if he's gone, then you run the risk of being in no man's land at 15 without a player worthy of that slot that you truly covet.

Seems like a smart deal. You still likely end up with a guy you really like at 15 like Horn, or maybe Collins or JOK, and you end up with two number 1s next year.

You can't see the value in getting a 1st-round pick next year in order to drop just 5 spots this year? You take that trade, assuming there's no mind-blowing guy sitting there at 10 (Sewell or Pitts).

That trade isn't very likely unless we give them one of our 3rd-rounders, which makes it a trade I like less.

Have to be careful with trades backs and future ones. I would rather have CeeDee Lamb and Trevon Diggs then all of the players the Raiders drafted in the last two seasons. Cowboys need to stay at 10 and make their pick.

Would a great deal
If trade back to 15 for a 1 next year or a 2 this year then take Moehrig or Barmore
