I think it's smart for the Rams to let this play out until Thursday night. If you commit to Bradford you pretty much take trade offers off the table. Why not see what happens? And if there's concern that Bradford holds out for too long, is the threat that he'd sit out and re-enter the draft next year real? Expect the #1 pick next year to get a smaller contract if they push a rookie cap system through.

I would love to see the reaction in Washington if they spent this year's #2 on a QB then threw several players, this year's #1, and maybe next year's #1 on another QB.

I thought the Rams were going to take Bradford...seems like most think it is a lock. I have also thought the skins have given up on moving up to get him once they traded to get mcnabb.

However one thing that makes me think that there is a small chance that they skins and rams are still working on a deal is the idea that I have heard nothing to indicate that the rams have started talks with bradford's agent.

When you have the first pick in the draft you are allowed to talk to players agents and try to work on contracts. There are times that the contract is even finished before the draft. Sometimes teams bring in 2-3 of the top players to work on deals to see which one is better (cost wise) or to try and get one of the other players/agent to take a tad less or miss out on the deal.

Maybe I have missed it but I have not heard much talk of this concerning the Rams and Bradford.

So maybe there is something still in the works but I just don't know what the skins could offer unless it is a few players or future draft picks as they are pretty much short in draft picks to trade this year.

If the Skins trade for the first overall pick, no doubt Haynesworth is in the deal. They have to trim salary. They can't have him and pay first overall pick money. Probably send Landry too! :laugh2:

If you're the Rams, and Washington called and said they'd give you Haynesworth and the #4 for the #1 and say, Otagwe or a later round pick . . . then you'd take it, right?

Say the Rams trade the 1st pick to the Commanders, for their first and Hainsworth and Campbell, then at 4 they can snag a top OT. In the second, you take McCoy (or whatever other 2nd tier QB you think will make it). You've just brought in a top DT, OT, a caretaker QB, and a new QB.

And if they get nervous about waiting, they can trade up to, say, the 27th pick, for their 2nd and 4th. Or maybe add in Atogwe....

I was watching a presser with the Rams staff yesterday and from the way they were talking I got the feeling that they weren't going to take Bradford. They mentioned him but only as an afterthought. When they went through the guys they liked they names three or four before him and then said oh and we like Bradford to.

I heard Cleveland was trying to trade up into that #1 spot. I'd consider trading down if I were St. Louis.

The gap between Suh and 2nd round DTs is a mile. Make the trade with Washington and get Campbell and Rocky McIntosh in the deal. Hell, ask for Haynesworth. Him next to Suh would be hard to beat.

How are you going to get Suh if you trade with Wash.?

I love this scenario! McCoy would come in with a chip on his shoulder wanting to show he's at least as good as Bradford. Suh will be a great DT for a decade.

No, Bradford was on GAC the other day and they asked him point blank if there had been any contract talk at all with the Rams, and he said no, there hadn't been.

It would be strange to trade up and draft a guy #1 after just signing McNabb, but it is odd that the draft is tomorrow and the Rams haven't discussed even preliminaries with Bradford's agent.

You are talking about the Commanders....

i actually told my Nebraska fan boss that they should draft suh and trade for haynesworth. but would suh be there with the 4th pick?
