Kirk Cousins

His arm is weak.

They won't trade him in the division.

The one quarterback we can presume isn't on RG3's level is Kirk Cousins.

Ask yourself, is Kirk Cousins elite/headed to the Hall of Fame? I haven't seen enough of him to say no. But that's the standard, if you're serious about championships.

basically just described tom brady coming out of college. Guess those teams who didn't see a QB going into the hall of fame/becoming elite immediately in the beginning should of cut eli, ben, peyton ect... We are really spoiled if people believe QBs become elite in the first 3 seasons often or will be as good as romo when we draft one. You develop QBs in your system in order to become great, I don't see why kirk doesn't hold the possibility to become a good QB if groomed right.

How about we worry about upgrading the o-line & if Romo doesn't work out under those guys, then we should be in a position to draft a franchise QB who won't have to worry about playing under Nate Livings-Doug Free-Cook-& Mackenzie B

I don't want a good quarterback. I want a great quarterback. If you don't have an elite quarterback, you have a quarterback problem.

He is in the PERFECT spot now to show his skills to potential interest from other teams...RG3 will definitely get injured and Kirk gets to come out and play the odd great game..like he did with ravens and browns, and such appearances would raise his stock big time...

I agree. The kid has already had glimpses of talent. He can definitely make plays!

I really like Cousins and thought he was a steal when the Skins nabbed him in the later rounds. He won't be backing up anyone for very long. He is going to be a starter in the league. If we have a chance to pounce, we should go full tilt.

Based on him playing a total of 1 game in his pro career then I would say that unless you would have drafted him coming out of college then you wouldn't trade for him now. Come on people. This is the same guy that was in the draft. The only body of work you can go on that's any different is 1 game. 1 game.

Fix the real issues we have with that 2nd rounder.

Cousins has won 2 games this season....one in relief and another while starting in place of a Rg3. He could have easily been the reason we lost those 2 games but he did his job and helped us run the table in the end. I'm not sure if he ultimately turns out to be as good as Schaub given the same opportunity, but he can definitely play his position at a level that is above average. In the limited time he's played, he didn't make many mistakes and wasn't simply a "game manager". He took control of the Baltimore game near the end and Cleveland all throughout. In the near future a team or two will be inquiring about his services I predict.

In all fairness he also threw 2 interceptions in relief against the Falcons. His games have not all been perfect. He has won 2 and lost one.

He has major upside. I really like the kid & what he has shown thus far.

Fair enough. But in the Falcon game....those were literally his first regular season snaps when Rg3 got concussed. He did manage to throw a TD in that game mixed in with the 2 picks. But as we now know, he helped to defeat Baltimore and Cleveland as the stakes were much higher in those two appearances. We had to run the table after the BYE....and he did not fail when his number was called again.

Griffen will start to break down by the time his rookie contract is up. Running QBs dont survive in the nfl. Ask Vick and even Cam this yr.

I heard rumblings around draft time that Garrett wanted to draft Cousins if he was available. Personally, I loved him before the draft and I've seen nothing so far to change my mind. I believe in this kid.

Unless an insane offer for him comes beforehand, they'll keep him a few years and probably see if he can be traded before his rookie deal is up. They wouldn't do it unless there is another backup plan that doesn't include Sexy Rexy Grossman.

If you think Cousins is going to resign in Washington next year you're crazy. He's doing his 2 years and out. I'd think Arizona would be the most likely place... especially if Reid gets the job there. I think a 2nd round pick is probably the right value. Was talking about this today with coworkers.
I agree that he won't stick around in Wash, they'll take a trade if its reasonable to go after a WR or other playmaker.

Zona, KC, Jax, Buffalo, Oakland, and even NYJ could be possible trading partners. All need a QB, and he's going to be a good one I think.

I would like for us to get Mallett.

Pros:
6'6" tall.
Very strong arm.
Can make all the throws.
Very high football IQ. (See Gruden QB camp)

Cons:
Not extremely mobile.
Not necessarily "face of the team" material, with his speaking style, he comes off as a little "slow", even though he isn't.

To me, the pros highly outweigh the cons on him. He has the potential to lead a team to a SB. But he will probably stay in NE and take over for Brady, and the Pats will continue contending for the title each year.

This is after completely rebuilding our OLine right?

He would literally get murdered standing back there.
