i am a HUGE meatloaf fan. seen him several times both in later prime years and "meh, getting a tad old". his last release was just horribly pathetic. steinman and meatloaf together again but the vocals were such a disservice to the memory that as you say - it hurts the things you love most about those singers.I hate when bands keep playing like this, especially when the lead singer either loses their singing skills or their voice deepens and crackles more.
I just don't get how fans want to see and listen to bands from their younger days when all they are going to do is damage the fond memories they have.
It's one thing for singers from those long ago bands who go off on a solo career and sing new songs even as they grow much older and sound different. It's another though when they tarnish the songs and memories of the band that was, simply for a pay day or a momentary feeling of returning to glory among their aging fan base.
That is disgusting. Worse is that they are wearing their makeup that they already gave up in the 80s.
Quit, please just quit.
Besides, I absolutely can't stand Gene Simmons. A disgrace of a human being.
I still remember the first time I heard Kiss on the radio while on the way to work...
