Kitna Bootleg

This is the kind of calls that good OC's think to try.

The one that nobody else was thinking of.

I was thinking, .. here we go, Barber will get smashed in the middle of the pile.

Anybody think Garrett and Kitna had this play circled in the playbook with a wink beside it. It gave Garrett the chuckles on the side lines.

Good gutsy call that will pay dividends down the road as teams have to factor that type of crossup into the mix....and keep the def ends accountable and thinking about it.........

...isnt that the type of call New Orleans Payton has received accolades for......thinking outside the box

"Gutsiest move I ever saw Maverick"

Man I was for sure that it was going to be a draw play for Barber. I thought well maybe Garrett will mix it up and run a fullback dive with Gronkowski. But the last thing I saw coming was the bootleg with Kitna.

Det defense sure as heck did not see it coming, as Barber was going to the right they all went with him leaving Kitna all by his lonesome

I was laughing so hard while watching his 38 year old butt slowly running toward the endzone for a TD. It was great.

He looked like a kid again.

That's exactly why he called that. I enjoy watching Garrett play chess with the opposinig staff. He's 2-0 and quite frankly, color me impressed.

Me too, but there's no pleasing some of the OC's that post here. ;)

Brilliant call that would have made Garrett look stupid if it didn't work.

Garrett goes by the Ernie Zampese coaching creed. "It's only a brilliant call if it works"...

I feel the need....the need for speed

Kitna can hit the afterburners next time:rolleyes:

To me, that play showed that Garrett knows he is playing with house money and is going to go balls out all year

I like the call by Garrett. He is starting to show me something. I also wonder if he was tanking it a bit in order to help get Wade out the door?

I really do not think Garrett was tanking to get Wade fired. I think Jason is a bit more professional than that.

I agree, Dooms. Let's be honest, Garrett wasn't without his warts before he became HC, but there's no way that a guy with his ambitions is going to willfully help tank his team's season (one which started with Super Bowl aspirations) in order to move up the depth chart. That just doesn't sound, at all, in line with the guy's character.

The play calling has not changed that much. Yes, there are more running plays now, but they are not always behind now. The differnce isn't the play calling, it's the fact that the players are more disciplined and executing the plays better.
