So, to the degree that any of us rejoiced when Brian Schottenheimer became OC to Mike McCarthy, a similar amount of rejoicing is in order.

Just sayin.

It will be McCarth.... errrr... Schottenheimer's offense, with some occasional Adams influence.

Will he also be O-line coach? Or no?
If people don't realize this something is wrong!!

It at least appears the team may be leaning towards an actual run scheme.
Hopefully the existing tackles and whoever the running back(s) are, can effectively execute it. The guards and center I have confidence can.

Oh, and if the team doesnt hire an excellent OL coach this new run game still goes nowhere.

Outstanding, modern OL coach hire is a must.

I wonder if anyone told him that he's got 1 running back only and that he's roughly the same dimensions as a Scottish Terrier? I like the hire but good luck coach.
They told him he will have a say in what backs they draft. Probably Jeanty if he is available at 12 or Hampton or Johnson at 44 and Brashard Smith with a later round pick. Oline could be in the mix at 12 if they don't get Jeanty.

Shotty, but he wasn’t calling plays
Right, but he was supposed to get the run game going. Maybe he was hindered from above a bit, on personnel, or maybe he was let down from below, say from Solari. But he was responsible for the production in some respects.

FRISCO, TexasThings are moving quickly this week for the Dallas Cowboys as it relates to filling the vacancies within their coaching staff, for there are many to be filled, and not much time to do so. With Brian Schottenheimer being named head coach, Matt Eberflus as defensive coordinator and Nick Sorensen as special teams coordinator — offensive coordinator remained in flux, but no more, following two interviews with Klayton Adams.

On Friday, Adams officially agreed to terms to join the Cowboys in that exact role, offensive coordinator, rounding out the top three seats behind Schottenheimer for 2025 and beyond, according to multiple reports.

He beats out other candidates such as current Cleveland Browns' offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey, current Atlanta Falcons' tight ends coach Kevin Koger and Detroit Lions' running backs coach Scott Montgomery, who all spoke with Dallas' front office over the past few days.

may be a good sign that while outside help was needed, they didn't let ego get in the way and prevent this change

So far so good. The plan is to develop a good running game which will open up the play action pass. It sets up well with the good running back class in the draft. You either get Jeanty at 12 or Hampton, or Johnson, or Henderson at 44 and another one like Brashard Smith later in the draft.

Link? Jerry Jones has never told a coordinator in his life that they'd have a say in draft picks.
