Knight and Steele

The D gave up 20 points yesterday. Put the other 14 on the 0. Our offense is literally scoring for both teams in every game.

The Giants averaged 9 a game. So scoring "20" against us isn't some ringing endorsement. And giving them a pass for giving up 7 after a deep turnover is bizarre. Better defenses hold a crap offense like the Giants to a FG.

Knight is proving to be a great find. This highlights more concern for the coaches.

They didn't like Knight going into the season. They don't like McGovern either.

They were obviously wrong about Knight. Are they wrong about McGovern, too?
Only thing about the o-line coaching I’ve questioned was Knights evaluation. So definitely leads me to question their opinion on McGovern.

I do have to give Philbin credit as he’s not afraid to make adjustments and he’s got an injury-ravaged group playing decent. This many injuries in the previous era was a death sentence.

I feel like I'm watching a death sentence every Sunday.

Am I the only one who sees Knight struggling? I come on here and see people touting him vs. Steele, but there's been several occasions Knight has been whooped

Him and Steele both struggle at times during the game but they’ve been better than what you can ask from two starting tackles that really shouldnt be playing

Oh absolutely, I agree. But I see a lot of posts that Knight looks good, whereas Steele shouldn't even see the field. I'd say I'm more impressed with Steele than Knight, being an UDFA rookie and all.

I don't think anyone is saying he's a pro bowl level tackle. Most people are saying he is at least a functional tackle that we can win games with. Unlike the garbage backup tackles we had in previous years.

He's hasn't played T since college. I'm sure he can but at what level. I mean he may be a good/solid tackle but we KNOW he's an ALL-Pro guard. As someone mention in another thread, too many changes on the unit already. JMO.....
We saw Martin play tackle and looked like an all-pro out there

For sure, I get that. But it seems that people are higher on Knight than Steele, which is what I don't understand.

I did notice Steele road grading on a few plays. He seemed to have the strength and "want to" to clear his lane.
