But why the interest over Davis to earn him an article? Well, he sort of aced the Scouting Combine yesterday. Sorry, sort of is the understatement of the year. Davis blew the combine out of the water like a fisherman with a box of dynamite. Checking in at 5'10" and 227 lbs., Davis ran the 2nd best 40 time of all running backs. The only back to beat him weighs 60 lbs. less than him. There were only three wideouts that ran faster times than Davis. 4.37, officially. At his weight, Davis just turned in a Speed Score of 124.4, best over the last two seasons.

Oh yeah, he bench pressed 31 reps; second-most behind a 250 lb. fullback. His other measurables all ranked in the Top 15 for running backs (out of 38): 15th in vertical jump (33.5"), 10th in thbroad jump (121.0"), 11th in three cone drill (6.96 seconds), and 15th in 20-yard shuttle (4.38 seconds).

I posted about how ridiculous his day was in the combine chatter thread and no one seemed to care. Can't believe he isnt getting more attention after putting up those #'s. Kid has all the talent in the world too, just can't seem to stay healthy. He's a big risk but has huge reward potential too. Going to be interesting to see what round he goes in. I can see a team snatching him up in the 4th, maybe even late 3rd if all of his medicals check out as far as past lingering injuries.

IMO if they draft RB, durabilty has to be one of their biggest attributes. Murray and Felix arent and werent exactly iron men. This guy has an injury history. I kind of like Bell and Taylor particularly in the red zone.

Definitely agree with this. We are drafting a runningback to BE DURABLE

Fumbles on every 6.5% of his touches. No thanks. That % is way too high.

Just don't like the way he runs. Felix - coming out before he lost his mojo - just glided, just a bizarre kind of lateral-forward agility. Knile doesn't feel like a running back to me. I'd be much more interested in the A&M kid that performed well, but in both cases I'd be hesitant to spend much in the way of a pick with those injuries.

Great numbers, no doubt, but I am still on the DeVeon Bell Wagon. His numbers and production are very, very good IMO.

6'1" 230 lbs, he ran a low 4.50 forty. The guy can carry the load and he has some agility and natural instincts. He's not just a straight ahead runner. I see him as a guy who could come in and produce if/when Murray goes down. Played in the Big 10 so he did it against good comp. I like him more and more.

well LACY will be there with a little trade down in the first - sorry there is no way I pass on this kid

but I would not be afraid of Davis or Burkehead either

so how many running backs have come back from knee surgery ???????? does AP ring a bell ?

Him and Lattimore are tantalizing, but injury history and propensity for injuries is hard to ignore.

That being said, RB's are only one hit away from being labeled as snakebitten as it pertains to injuries.

I'd be tempted on both in the third and would definitely take one in the fourth, but if they go before that, so be it.

Honestly, he's a boom or bust guy, total crap shoot. One thing for sure though, home run speed.

I would rate him as a 5th rounder due to running style and injury history.

I believe Knile Davis will not be on the board by the 4th round. True enough he has had injury problems and had a real quiet year last year with all the distractions going on in Arkansas with Petrino.

But I've seen this kid to know that he's not another Felix Jones clone and can be productive at the next level. Many SEC fans believe Davis was the best running back inthe SEC before injury with the likes of Lattimore, Richardson, and Michael Dyer

those wanting

Christine Michael, Texas A&M: Like Lattimore, Michael was coming off of an ACL injury this fall, but he never seemed to really fit in the Aggies' new spread scheme. Eventually, he really wasn't Texas A&M's first option at running back and he finished the season with 417 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns in 11 games of action

does not make him to DUREABLE
