In the US, the State (prosecution) cannot appeal an acquittal or not guilty verdict.

from a jury right, but my understanding is she appealed the verdict, it was successful but another appeal overturned that appeal or something to that effect, that is not double jeopardy

that being stated, she won't be sent back

yes then got a shorter sentence by ratting out her husband and stating that he abused her to the point she had to do what he wanted

IIRC, what's even worse, after a deal was made with her and the prosecutor, her attorney released videos tapes they had made of the rape and murders which clearly showed her involvement but the deal had been made and the sentence could not be changed, its horrible that this woman is free after her and her psycho ex-husbands atrocious crimes
