Starr’s chilly TD plunge was the greatest play in the greatest game by the greatest franchise and by the greatest quarterback in all of NFL history. It happened right here on this very same field.

?

I like Kornheiser, hes funny w/o trying too hard, the oposite of Rome and Tony Reali. He reminds me of Larry David.. But hes bad on MNF, the whole crew is bad too. The fake laughter, bad jokes, the fighting for air time, it just loud and messy

It's pretty bad when you find yourself longing for the days of Dan Dierdorf or Dennis Miller. I agree with the OP, Tony is great at PTI and when he had the radio show. However he is a complete disaster at MNF and has made a very anticipated event less fun to watch.

The Packers/Vikings game the other night was atrocious. You've got a great game between two division rivals who figure to be very competitive this season and the guy could only talk about Favre. While God certainly had to be talked about some given the circumstance, Tony only wanted to talk about that. He has terrible timing with his dialogue and doesn't know when to be quiet. He knows little about the nuts and bolts of the game and can only discuss stories. I have yet to meet anyone who likes him in this role so it's probably only a matter of time before he is relieved of his duties.

I wish they would just go back to the old Sunday Night Football crew with Theismann, McGuire, and that other guy. At least those guys had a nice chemistry and called a decent game. Sure Joe T is annoying at times, but still, I always enjoyed the Sunday Night Football telecasts. I am sure I am in the minority on this one.

I think Dick Stockton and Dick Vermeil would be an outstanding combination (yes I know Stockton is with Fox and Vermeil is with the NFL Network). If they needed a 3rd member, Michael Irvin. This would give you the coach view, player view, and announcer view. It would also be a colorful cast, a passionate cast, a knowledgeable cast.

They did get one thing wrong: Tony is not a wine-sipping elitist. He lives in Chevy Chase, MD in a regular house, not a mansion in a gated community or something. He works at a liberal-elite newspaper, and both of his kids attended Ivy League colleges, but he's no snob. He's more of a mensch. The real problem is that his first love is basketball, not football, and it shows.

Tony is only good on PTI with Wilbon, take him away and Cornholeio is just a cranky old man. There are a lot of lame NFL crews out there.

He's annoying on MNF and PTI. All they do on PTI is try to out scream each other.
