You make a good argument for Jenkins.

With the way the 'boys have been doing business recently, most of the contracts being done are fairly reasonable, so that's a non-issue for me.

I just find it hard to find favor in the 'boys taking on a player with a past of injuries and weight problems. I'd question his contribution level. To me, he's kinda like a Terry Glenn injury risk, but without the Parcells history. If a coach from the Panthers were brought onto the staff with a history of his play, then I might not have as much of an issue.

I think your right. I think he would have to probably lose a few pounds. If he's at 380 now, he probably needs to be around 350. Can he do it? I don't know but the alternative is probably an end to his career as an NFL player. I'd think this would be motivation enough but it never failes to amaze me when I see guys eat themselves out of jobs each and every year.

Look at Willie Blade. He played pretty well for us in 2003; all he had to do was control his eating for one more year and he probably could have gotten millions out of Danny Boy. BUt he was unable to do even that and now he is gone from the league.

Fergie has weight clauses written into his contract. And whatever is in there is significant enough for him not to miss his weight. I don't know if that would work for Jenkins. Tho Jenkins weight is listed at 335, we know that's not the reality of it all. But if he can get back to that, then he'll be more like the Jenkins of '03...as far as shape.

If he can get himself in shape, then it might lessen his chances of injury. But if he can't, then he's an injury risk waiting to happen.

the panthers are rumored to be releasing him because of the price of his contract. if rivera is coming to dallas. this might be the perfect kind of DT that would fit right next to ferguson. of course he has some injury issues, and he would cost some, but i think the rewards could be very high with a player of his caliber.

on a side note, i have never seen a player whoop on larry allen the way i saw jenkins in 2003.

I live in Charlotte and have watched him the last couple of years. He is a shell of what he was a couple of years.
The juice really helped him dominate, now he can give you 20-25 snaps and play the run o.k.
That is if he can stay healthy?

Spending money on the Dline is the last thing we need to worry about.

We have plenty of talent there already.

Really, who's our other NT if we go 34? If we go 43, who's our backup 1 Technique?

Good Idea  Fegurson need some type of help because he is a weak nose tackle.

I would love this signing for a whole lot of reasons but the main one would be because of the "pass rush"

Ferguson and weak don't go together buddy, he was one of the more outstanding players the Cowboys had on defense last year....

I like Kris Jenkins but, I dont think he would be a good 3-4 player.

Not to mention he isnt even close to being the player he used to be.

Not sure why people waste time posting speculation threads...

Oh wait , thats almost all of them in offseason..

One wonders why, if you find such threads a waste of your time, you continue to hang out with us pitiful speculators...
