I used to be able to listen to it on a regular basis. Norm's show, yes I know his voice is irritation and it sounds like he is slobbering and climaxing at times when he is excited, was one of the few shows I could stomach.

I tuned in to try and catch the latest cowboys news on the radio. Besides norm, the ticket tickers you had to hope Mickey or one of the interview segments would give you some info.

There were times when the hosts of the shows did not even know the latest news. It was insane.

Although I consider myself a person that likes good humor I often found the humor on their show lacking and personal did not care for some of the veiled racist humor they would have on there.

So I just quit listening to them all together. Well I do listen to them when they cover the game and I don't have it playing in my area. At least Brad and Babe are doing it instead of some of the stooges on the ticket.

As I tell other people that complain about ESPN and such, if you hate it so much quit listening to it.

Besides the best part of their broadcasts, imo, is always recapped by someone on the board. The PCs and interviews so now I don't have to sit through an hour of lame humor to get a 2 minute segment of cowboys info.

So I say to the others that don't like the station. Just quit listening to it like I did.

With all of that said, congrats to them on the award.

I listen to the Ticket, and I would take a segment of "gay or not gay" talk intermingled with a segment of sports talk any day over 24 hours straight of generic sports talk. Besides, 95% of "sports talk" really isn't sports talk ... it's gossip about athletes. It's about who go busted drinking and driving, or who got caught with a gun without a permit. It's no different from Perez Hilton, except you just replace Lindsey Lohan with Michael Vick. And at the end of talking about Mike Vick for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for 45 consecutive days what have we concluded? That he's not a good person? Wow, I was able to draw that conclusion in about five minutes. Sounds like time well spent.

Perfectly summed up.

I am the definition of a P1. I literally never turn the station. I think every show on the station has something to offer, but my preference is BaD Radio. They have a good blend of sports talk and guy talk. You can't beat Bob Sturm for sports knowledge in this market. One segment they'll be discussing the Cowboys and the next segment will be "What's on my Tivo?".

To me, that's what MAKES them great. I can get some good opinions and discussion on the Cowboys and the next moment, figure out which TV shows I should be watching and the opinion comes from other guys who share at least one similar interest with me which is sports.

And if there's a big sports story with a local team? They'll spend basically the entire show talking about it. It's not as if they ignore sports all together. They touch on each story and give more time to important stories and once that's talked out? It's time for other stuff.

I listen to Norm...the rest can be scrapped... I tried, really tried, told myself that I am just being an old foogie, till one day my son who is 15 came in and listened for awhile with me and said Dad if I talked like that you would be all over me like white on rice...and thinking about it, he is right. I think it just comes down to morals & principles if you have any worth having you find the ticket for the most part trash. If you do not have any and find putting down other people funny, or ridiculing other segments in life amusing, than I guess the ticket is for you.

But of course more and more sport talk shows are becoming garbage...it use to be like this

John from NJ: Hey Phil our left tackle gave up 5 sacks last time we played a game in the mud it looks like its gonna rain again and Shea stadium will become a mudbowl, any chance Coach know it all will sit him down...

Phil: John the guy is all pro, considered the best left tackle ever and you want to sit him down!? you're crazy... next segment we talk to the Head Coach.

Phil: Hello Coach you there

Coach Know it all: yeah I'm here, what's on your mind today fellas

Phil: Coach first of all you aren't going to sit your LT because he plays horrible in mud are ya...

Coach know it all: <silence>

Phil: Coach you still there

Coach know it all: uhm we'll get back to you on that phil..anything else

:laugh2:

What's that about? That's a pretty sweeping generalization I would say. I find it amusing. I'm sorry you find it...offensive to your morals?

What I find amusing and entertaining has absolutely no relation to the my moral fabric. If they have a segment on someone saying the wrong thing on the air and the result is comedy gold? If I laugh, that makes me less of a person?

Bah.
