Kudos to Colombo and the OL

Gurode has been one of the top centers in football for several years now and goe to the probowl every yr, I'd say that makes him elite.

I think this is by default.

I don't think he's a bad player, but I don't think he's a particularly special one either. Outside of Mangold, I don't see a real dominating center in the league. Sometimes it seems as if there just isn't enough strong play at center throughout the league to really separate the best from the rest...and often times its a Cowboy player's extra attention that gets him the nod. Might be my imagination.:

I think he's capable of being dominant against the right opponent, but he's not terribly consistent. He's certainly capable of having poor games.

....and as far as someone's reference to Kosier, I love the guy....but I don't think he's near the athlete that Free is.

I love the left side of our line....I think they'll really start to gel by mid-season. We should start seeing some real improvement in the run game and against the blitz as a result.

This was painfully obvious in the Commander game and this week the Cowboys face the toughest DL yet in the Titans,,, if they can give Romo adequate protection this week I will feel a lot better about their chances this year(provided there are no offensive tackle injuries)

I wouldn't call the Titan's defensive line the toughest. They're undersized, and they will wear down. If Romo continues to get the ball out quickly, and we can establish some semblance of a running game, we should have our way with them by the 4th quarter.

I think with the emergence of Bryant, we should see that number increase again.

I always thought Garrett's passing attack focused on too many deep routes actually. The short passing game is something we really haven't had; this isn't the WCO.

I disagree. In fact, our inability to get Jason Witten on deep seam routes is incredibly frustrating. We were quite efficient at that two years ago. Establishing a deep threat through previous successes is a tremendously advantageous ability in the NFL. Everything else flourishes offensively when a defense has to respect deep passing routes.

I agree that Garrett has utilized Witten poorly. When Sparano was the OC/assistant head coach, Witten was running a lot of those deep seams and posts that we don't see today. Witten was also a much better redzone threat. Like someone said above, if used correctly, I think Dez could help to bring those numbers back up.

You realize Garrett has been calling all the pass plays and designing the passing game since 2007 right? His yds per catch has been virtually the same his entire career, and his career high was under Garrett. He also has all the longest plays of his career under Garrett as OC, never mind the fact that his 3 highest years in total receptions have come with Garrett as OC.

I guess you'll be one of those that cry about the number of TD's, but he had exactly the same amount of TD's in Garrett's 3 yrs as OC as he did in Parcells/Sparano/Haley/Payton's years as OC, 13. In Parcells last season, Witten caught 1 TD.

There's nothing wrong with how Witten is used.

well they're tied for most sacks in the league and this was done playing predominantly cover two,,, that puts them above the Texans, Bears and Skins IMO,,,

They eating us alive in the first half. Colombo looks and plays like he's 50 years old bigg is horrible too. Bigg is out now and Holland in. Don't know if he's hurt of just that ineffective. I'm doubting this team can make the playoffs with this line. It's just not good enough: period.

For lack of a better word... Colombo SUCKS.

Colombo and Bigg wouldn't start for MANy decent teams in the league. They simply are old and washed up: that's a fact. Backups and very overpaid. Colombo almost got Romo killed about 9 times today.

New coach talk and draft prep boys...it's all but over especially when Minny shreds us next week.

Maybe the Jerah and Ginga show will actually bring in some friggin' olinemen next year. That and some more CBs. In other words: same old same old.
