people still find a way to be negative, un-real

yes, he deserves credit for being a good soldier, not only because he is not complaining about anything, but they stuck him @ RG because that had to do so...never heard a peep out of him

you want him on our wall...you NEED him on our wall!!!!

He got better because his job was threatened by Parnell. He was FORCED to take a pay cut. And some here want to thank him? TOTAL COMPLETE BS.

I agree, he maintained a good attitude and got to work and has shown much improvement in his game. He could have pouted but he didn't. I hope Free can redeem himself in the eyes of his teammates and the fans.

I think he will. All that moving around was detrimental to his game. I was and still am a big Doug Free fan. He has been a good linemen for us, aside from last year. I have a feeling he'll be back in old form and we'll truly have one of the best OLs in the NFC.

If he didn't take the pay cut for the team, we wouldn't be in such a great position to pick up guys like Waters. What he did was truly a team move. And I think he deserves a Thank You and some credit from our fan base.

It's good for someone of his status to be honest with him self in realizing that this would help the team and to accept the fact that he wasn't performing as high a level as he was paid. My hat is off to the guy and Karma is on his side on this one.

It was make 3.5 here or go get into a competition for playing time getting paid half of that number or less, while competing against someone who isnt some journeyman basketball player. Yes, glorious noble Doug...we thank thee.

Thank you, Doug.

By the way, if you stink the joint this year, your next positional change will be to the unemployment line.

No pressure. :)

The whole line was a complete wreck last year. There have been years when he was one of our better linemen out there. The position change wasn't good for him. He's done everything we've asked of him, including changing positions whenever asked and taking a pay cut.

That is my hope as well. I have never hated the guy I don't hate any of the players on this team. I do get disappointed in them and yes times I think we should release a player if they are not turning things around. Free did not sit around moaning about this cut he got off his butt he hit the training room and maintained a positive attitude and right now it seems to be paying off for him. I respect that.

Kudos for sucking so hard at RT that they thought you were expendable enough to move to guard.

Yea yea he's a professional and all that, but he's terrible. I still think we'd be better if he wasn't on the roster.

You're giving too much credit for the pay cut. He wasn't asked to do anything, he was given an ultimatum. And quite honestly, 3.5 mil is more than any other team in the NFL was going to give him...the choice to stay was probably a business decision as much as anything.

He came into camp looking good ar RT they moved him to Guard because that position was sucking and injured. By all accounts Free has looked good, except your own account but then I have a feeling Free could make it to the Pro Bowl and you would still have an ax to grind.
