We can all spin this however we choose. But about 80% Starting QB’s are taken in 1st and 2nd round.

That’s not the argument I’m making though.

The argument I’m making is. What % of QB’s selected in the first round, never play as well as Dak has, or turn out to be flat busts?

The cowboys could select a QB in the first round next year and odds are they won’t even be as good as Dak. And then you just blew a first round pick and bunch of cap space.

Oh good gosh. How could anybody have an issue with Dak the man? He's exemplary in that regard.

My only beef is his ability to throw accurately from the pocket to multiple routes. That's it. Fix that, and I'm fully on board. I just haven't seen it yet.

I’m sorry we never had the opportunity to attempt to use a 1st round pick on Romo’s heir. We could have landed a gem and still had one of the best backups in NFL with Dak.

Don’t get me wrong. I actually wanted them to take a QB with the 4th overall rather than Zeke. But I’m just saying, it could take the team years to find a QB as good as Dak. That’s why I think it’s too early to give up on him considering his play so far.

I’m not giving up on him , I’m just wanting to hedge our bet.

Like we did with Troy drafting Walsh and even back when we drafted Morton as our 1st round pick in 1965 we took Roger just in case.

We ended up getting good trades for both after we decided on which one we wanted.

That’s somewhat misleading .

We drafted him in the 12th round because he was going to the Navy for 5 years.

It’s not like he wouldnt have been a 1st round pick otherwise.

It doesn’t matter. Obviously no one else thought he’d be a good pick 5 years down the road. Appears we didn’t need to use a higher pick. In same draft we used our 1st pick on Morton.

We did the same thing with Hershel using a 5th round pick and why we had the rights to him when USFL folded.

Staubach very likely would've been the a top 3 pick if he came out immediately.

No but if QB was a priority we could have been in the mix for Wentz or Goff who went 1-2.

Or even this year there were 5 QB taken in 1st round. Just saying..

Which any of them could be a bust but less likely behind this OL and running game.

And if we ended up with 2 potential starting QB we have trade bait. While Daks value might have been high after Rookie season probably not after last season.

I’d say we probably have what we thought we’d have when we drafted him but our star studded offense in 2016 elevated his performance . I’m thinking like in Cleveland he might not have had as much success for example?

Wrong. Tebow’s throwing mechanics and arm were nowhere near as good as Dak’s.

Dak can't throw further than 20 yards. What arm?
