He can tackle just fine. He's not afraid of contact.
We have enough safeties that can't cover but can tackle. They're called strong safeties. I want a true FS that can cover first and foremost. He's got the speed and athleticism. I'd give him a shot if we feel decent with the depth at corner.

Free safeties also have to be able to tackle. Maybe not like a strong safety, but better than CB's.

Your last sentence is the issue, we have very little depth at corner. Carr status is up in the air. Scandrick wants more money. Who knows if Claiborne will be ready by Week 1? And even if he is, will he be any better? All the other CB's are little more than camp fodder.

I agree that we need a ballhawk free safety, but not at sacrificing depth at CB.

No point to signing him, he can only play slot corner, and when they play nickel Scandrick is going to be playing the slot.

If Dallas can find a CB to play the slot they can leave Scandrick outside. Right now Scandrick does move over to the slot only because he is the best we have to play the slot does not mean he has to continue to move in the slot if they can find another CB

Why can't Corey White be that guy? He seems to be an ideal slot corner given his size and speed.

He might be, I'm not suggesting we get Arrington, only commenting about Scandrick role and how since he is already moving to the slot that we don't need a slot CB. I think White could be that guy and I think there would be some young CB that were in mini camp who may surprise us all.

I don't think that Patmon is camp fodder. But you're right, we don't have much depth as it is, and most of the guys we do have, have question marks over their heads for one reason or another.

However, I would like to see what Corey White can do, as well as this kid from the rookie camps who's 6'3" and seems to be physical (can't remember his name).

Hopefully this will give Carr a bit of a wake up call.

If Carr hasn't woken up by now then he's not likely to wake up at all.

Restructure or be cut is my guess but since I said it they'll keep him. And there's an argument for that considering the current perceived state at CB.
