Ok. Is there any news on Kyle Kosier and how he has progressed injury wise? I have been reading and hearing about how the Cowboys are interested in drafting an O Lineman early in the upcoming draft but I am concerned as to which position.

My thoughts are if we're going O Line we look for a quality replacement for Flozell at LT. Drafting to replace Kyle at LG would admit that trading for Holland was a bad move. We are solid everywhere else, I think.

Maybe the prognosticators expect us to draft a back up center. But would you do that 1st day?

That's it. Any news on Kosier would be much appreciated...

I haven't heard much on Kosier, but it wasn't a career threatening injury. He should be fine.

As for still drafting an OG high, the guy I would like is D Robinson. Not because I dislike Holland or Kosier, but just because I think Robinson will be a cut above those guys. That said, I think we can win with Kosier/Holland as well.

i heard, cant remember where i read it, but that the cowboys are worried alittle over kosier about his injury and that it may not have healed properly. Take it for what its worth, but i read that somewhere, that maybe why the cowboys are looking at some offensive linemen in this draft.

We need depth, regardless, but they way Kosier's injury reaggravated, and as much weight as he has to put on that foot, I'd imagine we have to be looking to cover ourselves.

Holland played ok in reserve. And I'm not convinced we're not ok at backup OT, but I'd like to see another starting-quality guard, and I've been uncomfortable for years with our backup C's.

You think it may have had something to do with him being rushed back into the lineup prematurely? Last year was an ugly year because of stuff just like that. One could argue that Spencer being rushed back contributed to his injuries lingering.
Same could be said for Felix Jones going on IR with the toe after the torn hammy.
Roy Williams and the twice broken forearm.
Pat Watkins with the neck stinger/disk issue.
Flozell with the dead arm issue.
Adam Jones rushed back after his neck injury.

You could even throw Hamlin and Keith Davis on that list.

Something about last year was weird with the injuries not being given a chance to heal and I hope the guys don't have to deal with long term effects.

My money is on Holland starting this year.

He is just more physically gifted and I was impressed with his run blocking when he was healthy last season.

Then you can have Kosier back up both guard positions which eliminates Proctor as a back up guard and he is then only our back up center.

Center is more up Proctors alley.

yeah something was weird about having players play with some serious injuries last year, either someone told them to play or the doctors-trainers werent doing their jobs properly by saying no they shoudnt play

Well, you had Jerry criticizing Marion Barber's toughness during the season, and Wade admitted later they probably rushed him back too soon.

Seems like the emphasis from the top was to get guys back on the field.

Kosier might not be the beef of the line but he was the brains of the operation. He made the line calls not Gurode. I don't think we suffered as much from a talent point when he was out but a technical and play calling point.

Kosier NEEDS to start.

Agree in regards to Holland and Kosier but hitting the waiver wire is more up Procter's ally. He'd get blown up at center even more with 2 bigger men in the middle leaning on him.

Kyle Kosier was/is vital to the success of the line as a whole but I wonder where you heard he made the line calls. If he did, that would explain why the line was so much better when he played but I have always heard that Gurode made the calls and at the line before the snap.

Am I wrong?

We were 4-0 with Kosier last year and had our best running games with him in there..Kosier is starting next year. He's an above average OG with Pro-Bowl potential.

I dont know.

I like Kosier and was never down on him like so many were going into last season.

He went down and all of a sudden everyone misses him. Kinda funny.

But when I watched Holland last year he was moving guys when he locked on.

He can get more push and just makes our Oline a better run blocking group.

I like Kosier. But I just think Holland is a superior talent/player.

This line had more issues then losing Kosier....

I was hoping for a better coaching job by the OL coach.....hopefully we can improve there....

Lots of money spent on the OL and IMHO their play was the biggest disappointment last year.

You go with Kosier starting since it obviously works..if he or BIGG get injured then you lose nothing with Holland.good situation to have

I'm in pretty much the same boat, but technically, Kosier's a better player than Holland. Holland's a big dude, though, and he definitely picked up the play of the line when he got in.

I think Kosier should enter camp the starter, but LG is one spot I'd like to see essentially up for grabs.

The fact that he broke that same foot twice should make anyone concerned.

I wouldn't be surprised if it happens again. We would be foolish to depend on Holland and not shore up the position.

It is not just the injury. We need a young quality interior lineman badly.
