I think it's worse than that... Even if they showed confidence in Manual he would still stink.

Marrone was fighting for his job, that's why he thought that 9th win was critical– even though it has cost them 4 draft spots.

I said all along that he must have had one big bill or some expense that he wanted to pay off that was delaying what should have already been a year-or-more-old retirement. This season was always a cash grab for him. The fact that he announced his retirement as fast as humanly possible after the season ended confirms that to me.
