Why, Kyle?

Are you so indecisive (like in the pocket) that you half not tolt us what your immediate NFL plans are?

Stephen Jones beliefs you will return.

Will you?

That would be nice. It would be nicer if you either retired or gave Jerra an immediate thums up as to your return.

Stay in touch, Kyle. We are all holding our breaths.

Oh, and you are no Lebron Shames.

What's it going to be then, eh?

I honestly hope against hope that Weeden can be salvaged and we can send Orton packing. If he has even thought about retirement, he has probably already mentally checked out.

I think at the moment, or should I say on paper, we're pretty set at QB; that's a great feeling. Who knows what will happen by the time TC rolls around, or what the status of the position will look like by the end of preseason. But right now, I'm okay with our current status. We're in a pretty good position.

Not really, I would bet many other players at this time of year often think, or have thought of retiring. Even if they never mentioned it to anyone. But by the time TC comes around, they mentally check back in. Still a long off season way to go yet.
Where did the story come from that Orton was talking retirement anyway. Did Orton or his agent even make this statement or indication?

This is why the Cowboys will not draft a QB this year. They already have a backup and Jerry got his project with Weeden.

No talk of retirement that I half heard. Yet, when one does not indicate one weigh or the other to the club about his or her intentions to play, one can only speculate as to whether retirement is on the horizon.

Orton's indecisivenss half hurt the Cowboys and I don't appreciate it.

Meh...overpaid bench warmer. This team lives and dies on Romo. Orton's outing for us was just like the rest of his career.

This. Why are we supposed to care if he retires or not? He's the backup.

Yes we are. And unless a QB drops to them in the draft, and they get one, that's ok too. However if a QB is there, they may make a trade from that position to get better draft picks. Then they will go QB net year.

Better than normal for him, actually. he would revert to the (his) mean over time.

For a backup...which is an important point...he is fine.

Sorry, but since when can we afford to not worry about who our backup is? Romo doesn't exactly have the back of a 20 year old anymore.

Perhaps, but if he goes down, the season is over anyway. And Weeden is no worse than Orton is.

Maybe redo your sentence with supervisory probation:

He's the backup. that's why we are supposed to care if he retires or not.

I guess people chose to forget that Orton....while he threw a costly pick played well enough to win that last game of the season. Exceeded my expectations for a "bus driver" who sat out all year.

Well, at this point in time I'm more comfortable with Orton than Weeden mainly because he's been in the system for 2 years. Of course my opinion is subject to change during the season.

Orton was 30-46, 358 yards, 2 TD's, 2 INT's
He play very well.
I seen people say he played not to lose, as opposed to play to win. Seems he played to win to me.

How was this a story if him retiring was never a consideration?
