Kyle Queiro

He's being converted to LB

Kyle Querio took the perfect angle around Dalton Schultz in order to knock the ball away on the goal line. Instead of trying to play through him, Querio went over Schultz’s left shoulder and was able to knock the ball down with his left hand. Querio made several plays in the red zone where his coverage was spot on -- which is impressive for a rookie defender.

Broaddus had a blurb about him being productive in shorts.

As should be expected, he's covering well as a linebacker after being converted from defensive back. Probably going to be a specialty defender if he makes the team because he doesn't have the speed the team wants at safety and doesn't have the size at linebacker.

I hate those tweeter players, but yet another thing this team insists upon having. That and moving players a round. Why not just sign a S with the speed, or a LB with the size. :banghead:

Well, he was a UDFA. You can't make him more than what he is so with a player like this, you are just trying to put him in the best position to succeed. It's an uphill climb for him because he doesn't fit perfectly at either position, but he does have some coverage ability so I have no problem with the team trying to see if that can help it succeed. He can be a special teams player and coverage linebacker, and that's OK for the sixth or seventh LB on the squad.

Positional flex, baby!

For instance, if Chaz Green hadn’t been able to switch from third-string guard to starting LT, can anyone imagine how bad that 2017 Atlanta game woulda really been?

A team can never have enough positional flex.

Yeah, just think if they used Witten in a position flex situation, let him play LT. They could have won that game then. But no, these coaches refused to do that one.

Dallas is in the market to have the first, all 53 man “Flex” roster.

Jerry figures he can keep 26-27 players and cut the salary in half!

Witten was a DE in college originally. Coaches thought his athletic ability and smarts fit TE better. Rayfield Wright was a college TE, Mel Renfro was a star RB at Oregon.

Queiro's change of direction and lack of speed was ok for college, not for the nfl. If he has a chance it will have to be at LB.

Special Teams, maybe?

Agreed. He’s playing for a practice squad spot at this point. He’ll be lucky not to get cut for a veteran player once teams start trimming rosters during camp.

I like the kid, but if he’s going to stick at Lb, he’ll need a year to bulk up. Wishing him luck

How's this young man doing so far? Has anybody heard anything?

I don't know how he's doing but I'm hoping he's doing well cuz he's my pet cat this year, or at least one of them. Of all my pet cats he's my favorite and I hope he makes it.

Woodson was a linebacker in college

Bio:
Two-year starter who led Northwestern with five interceptions and made 60 tackles (5.5 for loss) with nine pass breakups in 2017. Recorded 53 tackles (3.5 for loss), two interceptions and six PBUs as a junior.
Pos:
Underrated safety prospect with excellent size. Effectively reads and diagnoses the action, keeps the play in front of him and willingly throws his pads into the pile. Works well with cornerbacks to bracket receivers over the middle of the field, shows good hands for the interception and makes a nice amount of plays on the ball. Quickly moves up the field to defend screen passes and the run but also moves laterally with speed.
Neg:
Inefficient and doesn’t always take proper angles to the action. Struggles making plays with his back to the ball.
Analysis:
Queiro is a strong safety prospect with a special-teams mentality. Best facing the action, he has the size, skill and ability to line up in a zone scheme.
