I think people were kicked out of their homes to build jerry world too.
The fair price they were given was not enough to buy another home elsewhere.
If they had their home paid for, and were given x amount for it, then that x amount isnt going to buy another home of
the same quality.
plus many planned to live out their life there.
It was also sudden, jerry wanted to start building as soon as possible.

He could have bought everyone a new home, but no just "fair value" and get out !!
I could be wrong on some of this , but it is what I remember.

For the record the homes aren't all just mobile homes that can be moved.......some residents did build homes and buy homes on the leased land......some have been there for decades....some are no more than shacks or fishing cabins.....the new owners want "to restore the lake to a more natural environment"

From what I understand it isn't their land......they just have mobile homes on the property he bought last year.......he gave them 6 months notice that their leases would not be renewed next year....it does sound cold but what obligation does he have to these people and how long does he have to let them be
True, he doesn't have any obligation to them. I would like to know what he is going to use the for.

Some of us would like to see his shiny new stadium plans returned to the natural environment as well. Of course it's different when it's a rich guys money making a land grab versus a small plot of land poor people just happen to be living in. Power to to the (rich)people! Can't have the poors rubbish living on his fancy new land.

All I am saying is why are the sellers not getting any grief.......they just made 750m and they are the ones that made deals with tenants......if anyone is responsible it is them

Why is on him to provide for these people forever....what about the heirs that just got 750m for the land and made the original deals.....I don't know anything about Kroenke but it seems harsh to blame a suicide on him for a 61 year old man that had nothing....who even knows what his level of involvement is.......I usually need more info before I start attacking people's souls
These people were probably getting a good deal for many years because the land owner(s) let them lease for a low price. They turned getting a good deal into thinking it's their "right" to live there or be compensated to move.

There was and area a few miles from where I lived years ago. This was a large area in the bend of a river on low lying land. People put trailer houses there because it was super cheap. Everybody knew it was a flood plain, but they moved there anyway. Every time it flooded, they cried that the government should compensate them on something to that effect.

New Orleans was basically the same thing, People moved into flood plans for cheap many many years ago and then it became their "right" for the government to make their cheap flood plain land equal to land that other people paid full price to buy.

I know a lake where the lots are all on leases. Many people did build on the lots, but most were simple structures.

There reason they made them lease only was because they wanted to be able to do something with the area in the future.

I will say that 6 months was not a very long notice; although, the sellers of the land probably knew for a few years that they would be selling this property but might not have told the people leasing the lots.

I think the new owners want to 'clean' things up and start from scratch.......they don't want these skacks......if there is ever future development I bet it is a lot more upscale...6 months on year to year leases is plenty imo.....the Waggoner Ranch has been up for sale for years so the tenants knew this could be coming

ITs hard for the unwashed masses to see things from the point of view of the people in the ivory towers and vice versa. Hence why everyone's goal is to be in the ivory tower. Love it or hate it that is what this country is built on. Everyday I try and figure out a way to move up the food chain why, so I will never be in these people's position.

I'm personally being affected by a developer who could care less about anything/anybody but his own interests, so I'm sympathetic to the man's situation. That being said, do we know if Kroenke was even aware of the situation? In many cases, the guy at the top sets the strategy and charts the course, but the people underneath them get paid to make things happen and deal with the issues. The top guys don't get involved at the detailed level because 1) they don't have time and 2) they pay people to do that stuff for them. Just wondering.....
