LA will be getting a football team......

I'm thinking the Jacksonville Jaguars...

Lots of stories going on right now down there. Team fighting the city over stadium revenue. They have to cover up seats, just so they can sell out and avoid blackouts.

Minny's gonna get a new stadium someday... New owner promised not to move the team.

AZ's getting a new stadium. So it's not going anywhere.

Saints are going back to Louisiana. Benson can complain all he wants, but I've read that the other team owners aren't inclined to approve any move out of LA.

I think SD will stay where they are. Now that they're winning, the city and team have been able to compromise on some issues.

LA doesn't deserve a team....how many chances have they had?

THat's what I have been thinking. L.A. Rams? L.A. Raiders? When they left L.A., they became successful.

From the story: He also spoke positively about a team playing at a facility proposed for the Angel Stadium parking lot in Anaheim and didn't rule out the Rose Bowl in Pasadena as a possible home field, either.

Anaheim is not LA. I don't want anyone here to think that. Anyone from LA proper will tell you -- that isn't LA.

LA is such a god awful place. You wanna know how I can tell, the water. If a place has good water, it's usually a good place. LA has **** water, terrible place, Oregon, great water, great place...Bay Area, good water, good place..u get it....the Middle East, no water, crazy ish over there

Generally speaking, any city with a beach is a terrible sports town.

Billy you are so wrong -- if you hate LA its because you've never been to the good parts. The water is awful though.

On that point, even myself, born and bread in LA until I was 30 agree totally.

It is not even close. SF is among the best cities in the world.

Everyone that has never been to LA and Anaheim pl;ease stop making ignorant judgements la and anaheim are beautiful places with a lot alot alot of things to do.

It wont be the Cardinals.

The tops team in the running for the LA market are:

Jacksonville
San Diego
New Orleans

Indy and Minnesota have dropped out of the running as far as I know.

San Diego recently agreed to build a new stadium for the Chargers so they are out as well

LA is LA not anaheim. I from LA and in noway do we consider that part of LA or anything like dallas and fort worth(yes I lived in coppell for 2 yrs I know the history). Anyways I would much prefer to see them in pasadena. More LA like.

They have been talking about it but no one has agreed as far as I know. Last I read within the past couple of days. They are trying to get it on next years ballot.

I will look for the article.

Unfortunately the Cardinals are building a new stadium, so it won't be them.

I wouldn't count out Indianapolis or Minnesota as teams that might move.

I don't have the kind of luck for it to be the Cardinals. I was so opposed to them getting a new stadium. I knew what it meant.

Here is the article.

Chargers, city attorney in war of words

SAN DIEGO – An attorney for the San Diego Chargers called outspoken City Attorney Mike Aguirre "the Terrell Owens of San Diego" on Thursday and issued a lengthy rebuttal to what the team says have been repeated insults and inaccuracies regarding its attempt to build a new stadium.
Chargers document (PDF)

Mark Fabiani, the Chargers' lead negotiator, sent Aguirre a letter and a 26-page attachment in an attempt to counter recent statements, including a radio interview last week in which Aguirre called team owner Alex Spanos "a corporate welfare queen."

In an interview, Fabiani said the team felt it was time to respond to Aguirre.

"We have tried to work with everyone, including Mr. Aguirre, and despite our efforts to do so, he has continued to hurl both personal insults as well as spew out inaccurate information," Fabiani said. "Under the circumstances, we felt like we couldn't let the record stand the way he created the record. We will continue to correct the record whenever he creates misstatements.

"At the same time, we've become convinced it will be very difficult to have any productive discussions in which he's involved."

Aguirre shrugged off the letter and the comparison to Owens, the outspoken wide receiver who's been suspended by the Philadelphia Eagles. Aguirre said he'd never heard of Owens.

"All this is just a rehash," Aguirre said. "Mark Fabiani is not used to somebody standing up to him. He's got to stop throwing temper tantrums and get control of himself. I'm going to continue to speak out and give my point of view, and that's that."

Saying they are hindered financially by playing in aging Qualcomm Stadium, the Chargers want to get a measure for a new stadium on the ballot in November 2006, but may be running out of time.

The team has offered to pay for a $450 million stadium and related infrastructure. In exchange, the Chargers want 60 acres of the Qualcomm site to develop in order to help pay the bill.

Fabiani said the Chargers have not been able to find a development partner due to the city's financial and political mess.

Fabiani said the Chargers can get a measure on the ballot before an environmental impact report is finished, but would need to find a development partner and finish putting together the ballot measure by Feb. 8.

I think either the Saints or Vikes end up in LA. As was mentioned the Cards are getting a new stadium so they are not going anywhere’s
