Lack of talent

At the end of the day, what we are facing is a lack of talent. Our DL could not get pressure on a beat-up offensive line, one of ours corners looks lost and our linebackers gave up 3 TDs. Thought Lee and Carter would be one of our strengths, but their play has not matched expectations.

We have beaten two below average teams, have been beat by a good team and a decent team.. Where does that put us? Between below average and decent team... Expect a 7-9 season.

What is frustrating about us, is that we really need to tank for a year, and draft more top tier talent. Do like our drafts by in large in the past 3 or 4 years, but before that, no, we did horribly

Well, it's either scheme (coaching) talent (scouting)or talented players not playing good enough, probably a combo of the 3- I don't care what the answer is, this crap has to STOP DAMN IT!

Like I read in another post. This team just obviously isnt as talented as we thought they were for the last 3 or 4 years. Plus what if ware is done after this year? where do we find a replacement for him?

D Line needs a huge injection of youth and talent.

We got beat by good schemes today.

Conservative defense and a quick passing attack on offense.

Basically your post kinda sucks.

This team has plenty of talent.

I saw one team get completely outcoached today. It was amazing to see SD dial up the perfect playcall for every defense Kiffin threw at them. Kudos to Rivers and their OC.

We overrate our talent, especially on offense. Without turnovers, we haven't broken 20 points in three of four games this year. You would think that, with a $100 million QB, one of the best young wide receivers in the league, a HOF tight end, and a decent running back, we could sneeze 20 points a game. But, alas, no.

Either someone in the front office grossly misjudged the value of the talent or the coaching isn't maximizing their talent.

Negative it a has been Hatcher, Ware and six patches.

If you say so.

I personally can't look at the DL play and say its been a weakness.

I'm not exactly sure what D Lines in the NFL you're watching that just makes ours look terrible.

Some people are never happy unless a first rounder is in every position. Garrett and Co got outcoached today, thats it. Sometimes the other team is just has a better day.

You only named 3 our 11 players on the offense...or really 3 of the 13-14 regular contributors. I think you can add Witten (though his scoring potential is limited) and maybe subtract Murray. You have Romo and Dez that are very good or great (Dez). So there are 10 or so other players rotating in on offense....where is this great talent you speak of?

I do think the talent is ok now that the oline is getting better. But having Dez Bryant and Romo is not enough to claim a team has great offensive talent.

No thats not it. Did the Cowboys get outcoached? Absolutely. Was Monte Kiffin running around out there giving up 500 yards, 31 points, and having scrubs push around his D Line? I must have missed that part.

On the offensive side of the ball, I'd say the problem is coaching.

On the defensive side of the ball, I'd say it is the new scheme and a little bit of lacking talent. 4 Players we were relying on before the season did squat today: Ware (game injury), Claiborne, Ratliff (soon to be IR IMO), and Spencer (IR). There is some serious coin invested in those 4 players and we got nothing in return this Sunday. Add Lee and Carter with sub-par performances and your defense won't perform well.

than you tell me, were there substitues or did our players forget how to play? lets blame the players, they forgot how to play, all of them? Than what? are the coaches exonerated?

How many star players do most teams have?

I'm not saying we have great talent. In fact, the first sentence I typed was "we overrate our talent." This offense is paid like a team of superstars when, in fact, the overall production is pedestrian.

I never liked the Kiffin hire after I saw he couldnt make adjustments at USC, just like he didnt make them today. But the fact is that there is a reason why half the D Line was on the street before the season when there is a dearth of good D Linemen in the league.

The defense was exposed with many runs to the left and throws at Carter's guy.

All of this and in the end, Dallas barely missed a FG (or almost as bad, gave SD a FG with field postion) and fumbled near the goal line. Even though Dallas was outplayed (especially the defense), that was the point differencial in the game.
