How many star players do most teams have?

I'm not saying we have great talent. In fact, the first sentence I typed was "we overrate our talent." This offense is paid like a team of superstars when, in fact, the overall production is pedestrian.

fair enough

I'm seriously starting to wonder if a lot of people on this forum only watch the Cowboys.

Dallas has more then enough talent.

The way teams defend us just speaks as to how scared they are of us on offense.

The LBers are a severe liability in pass defense, specifically Lee. This team will settle in the bottom 20 in total pass defense by years end.

to play our style of defense you need studs on the dline. We got by so far but it really showed this game. We need ratliff and ware of old back asap. We also need sub guys that can rush the passer when we give ware and company a break on passing downs or whatever.

I'm watching NE now and the only star they have on offense is Brady and they are hangning with Atlanta in Atlanta......so it cant be talent....

Is it talent or coaching?

As usual, the truth probably lies in between.......................either way the red head needs to go at this point because he has proven he cant field a team any better than .500

We got beat by good schemes today.

Conservative defense and a quick passing attack on offense.

Basically your post kinda sucks.

You can state your opinion however you want, but the lack of coaching is always an excuse. Here are the facts.. Want to know what the record is since 2000? 106 wins and 106 losses. Gone through 4 coaches. Hard to keep saying we have the talent.

I would appreciate a civil discourse..

If you say so.

I personally can't look at the DL play and say its been a weakness.

I'm not exactly sure what D Lines in the NFL you're watching that just makes ours look terrible.

I'm with you. One day it has been bad which is today but man they have been DOMINANT this season. I mean they were second in sacks before today. Probably still may be top 5.

And mind you this is with Spencer, Ratliff and Crawford hurt as well as Ben Bass. So yea it kind of goes against the opinion we have no talent. Just because you haven't heard of them doesn't mean they're not good.

I've said this for 4 straight years and I'll say it for the 5th. To win in today's NFL, you need a great Coach and a great QB. We have neither.

it's a good thing we won't be playing against qbs like that who can dissect defenses and expose weaknesses for a while

as long as this team has to put players on the field like edgar jones and kyle wilber, we are in trouble.

was the chargers makeshift oline more talented? no, it's coaching. their head coach/offensive coordinator unleashed a quick/short passing attack to protect their injured oline. smart coaching. something that has been missing in dallas for two decades.

The problem I have with that is the Niners were awful from 2002 to 2010. One of the worst franchises in the league. And they went thru 5 different coaches. Then they add Harbaugh and they go 26-9-1.

I have to agree, coaching and a top QB. How does NE do it year after year? Look at tonight, Brady has no-names on offense and he is still getting it done. I've already grown weary of all the excuses for this Cowboy team and it's leadership.

That's really it.

I think you can win with a great coach and a good QB though.

Like Joe Flacco and Eli aren't great by any means but they are really good.

what have any of those 4 head coaches done since they left here? if it was just talent then shouldn't they have succeeded after leaving dallas? the only one who has done so is wade as a coordinator. jerry as bad as a talent evaluator he is, he might be a worse selector of head coaches. jason once he is fired will be lucky to get a gig as a qb coach in the league.

I was unable to watch the game today, but I got jumped on last week for saying the offense wasn't that impressive, and I assume it was more of the same today.
At no point in the first three games did the passing game ever look like it had any kind of decent rhythm. There has never been much happening down the field at all. Just because we ran all over a god awful Rams team doesn't mean anything.

I checked the score at halftime, and was happy we were up, but disappointed we gave up a long drive for a FG with under 2 minutes after the INT return. When I checked again in the 4th quarter, it was 30-21, Rivers was 35-42 (lol), and the total yardage was almost 2:1. And I'm pretty sure I heard this week that SD's pass defense was the worst in the league. I know Miles was out, but it was another middling performance from the offense, no different than the first 3 weeks. The defense was bad I'm sure, but they did score a TD. Spotted 7 points, our theoretically great offense should have been able to break 30 against a bad defense.

Fair enough, but it seems like we have to play an almost perfect game to win when we play a decent team.. Meaning, no penalties no turnovers, we just can't seem to overcome that. We had one bad turnover, but San Diego's was worse. We had fewer penalties. San Diego had three back-up OL and we still really didn't generate much pressure. I know some would say they went to a shorter pass game, but he had 400 yards for only the 5 time in his career.

Regrettably were are only an average team...
