Lacking killer instinct

the D has the killer instinct. Its the offense that lacks it. That has 2 change. Something has gotten into Daks head. Dunno if he is still hurt or if its just mental lapses.

We went on the road and beat a division rival that was on a 4 game winning streak after our coach pissed them off by guaranteeing the win.

Just take those W's and be happy.

It seems to me the Cowboys played two totally different halves of football both offensively and defensively. I can understand trying to save players like Zeke or those dealing with injuries. I'm more concerned with the coaches taking the foot off the pedal with the play calling. For the most part this team is a young team still learning. As a fan I want see my team go for the throat when they see blood. I think players want that too. Let's be honest, the last two game the defense created 4 turnovers and that's not going to happen every week. We should have WON the last two games my 30 points each. Championship team bury teams when handed the chance.

Tampa Bay had a 27-10 lead, at home, in the 4th quarter yesterday. They blew it, got taken to overtime where they eventually prevailed.

If only they had a "killer instinct."

This isn't college football where blowouts are common. It's the NFL. Expecting 30 point divisional road wins is not realistic.

The defense collapsed? They gave up one drive, the other TD was a hail mary and heck of a catch.... if Dak and the offense played average, the final score wouldn't have been as close....need to fix this offense.....
perhaps I was a little harsh....in the 4th quarter.....we dominated all game....9 1/2 minutes left. ...the long drive. they ran the ball up the middle mainly. yes, they only gave up 14 points. but I would love to see a complete end to end. and yes, Dak's interception was bad and gave them a lifeline to pull the game out and the defense stepped up yet again

Well they kicked four field goals JG style ball. That could have been 4 TD’s and blowout

Buffalo is actually a good team though.

lol they’re a wildcard team like Washington is.

Stop creating all of these stories that “championship teams do this”.

There is no exact protocol other than getting to the playoffs and winning every game.

I guarantee you wouldn’t be saying this had Washington came back to beat us today would you. Sorry but this isn’t your kids tee ball where everyone gets a participation trophy just for playing. Nice story though.

you guarantee he wouldn't be saying a win is a win.... if we lost? lol. think you mighta caught him there!

And tampa showed you they are a tough competent football team. Or did you already forget about Thanksgiving Day?
Point is, this is a week to week league. Sometimes a quarter to quarter league. Some weeks good teams don't have their A game (as we've seen from Dallas the last few weeks) and sometimes they play really well for 3/4 of a game and then for whatever reason teams come back and make a game of it. We saw it happen yesterday with Dallas, TB and Clev. Those 3 teams were up by a combined score of 72-9 at halftime. They were then outscored 60-12 in the second half. It is very hard to blow out an NFL opponent. It does happen, but most games are relatively close.

True but Buffalo didn’t turn the ball over 4 times with one resulting in a TD. Nor were they playing against a backup QB when they came back to tie the game. Buffalo is also a playoff team. Don’t forget those facts.

1)Washington is a playoff team.
2)I don't understand the 4 turnover thing. I'd rather us win with our defense then having to be bailed out by refs in OT at home. Washington is a playoff team.
3)The backup QB is kind of a weak point to make. He didn't do anything. The only reason the Red$kins were in the game is because of our QB play, without a major bone head play this thread wouldn't even exist.

The Bucs defense could not stop the other team from scoring 24 unanswered points. If anything I feel way better about how our game played out. Defense stepped up and we won. Bucs get away with a mauling no call PI in the end zone at the end of the game to force OT. In the playoffs I'd rather have a dominant defense then a dominant offense. We could have both.

I never created that narrative. I was simply pointing out that Buffalo is a good team. Buffalo is a better team that WFT. That team yesterday was decimated on the defensive side of the ball and yet our offense struggled. It’s alarming

If the QB didn't make one of the worst throws of the season given the situation, they still win comfortably and it doesn't look as bad.

The defense was great - they allowed one TD drive in the 4th quarter by forcing Washington to milk the clock and go down the field. Nothing wrong with that. The "great" offense though, with a QB supposed to be an MVP candidate and all starters healthy, could only manage FGs for most of the game...even with the defense giving them good field position on a silver platter!

Oh for sure it’s alarming.

It’s just this narrative that Super Bowl champions are this beacon of perfection. They’re not.

In the salary cap era anyone can go to a Super Bowl and win it.

Even A terrible Eli Manning lead Giants team.

I missed Jimmy Johnson's "killer instinct."

I remember when Johnson's teams used to get criticized for running up the score. Johnson retorted that no one had sympathy for the Cowboys when they went 1-15, and he didn't complain about teams running up the score on Dallas then.

Play until the time expires. If you don't want them to score, then stop them.

No...I get your point.

It occurred to me...yet again...while watching our game and Tampa...how brutal and brutally competitive almost every game is.

And you see...right there is cause for concern by some fans. Are we competitive enough to beat a decent team like Tampa did with Bills? The Thanksgiving Day game says...maybe not. And I don't see why one is a evil pos for having those concerns.

Who said they had to be perfect? I don't see it. You are clearly using hyperbole to support your narrative. It's not very useful for the conversation.

Ummm.. Read the OPs post. “Super Bowl teams do this”.

Roger that...I will go back and re-read.

Let me correct myself first. There just aren't very many people who think ANYONE is perfect...not even super bowl winners. If we have the one you say we have I'm still surprised!
