A newspaper reported Dewey had won over Truman too. Did you even bother to read the part where the deal that the article was reporting was denied by Jerry Jones and that both sides confirmed there were no negative feelings? To me, that is stronger than the allegation which has no proof.
This is pathetic. I understand it must be hard for adoring fans to acknowledge that a player is a maniac, especially when the player was so good. But this is more important than football. Michael Irvin attacked his teammate with scissors and nearly killed him. The Dallas Morning News reported (not alleged), on the basis of confidential sources (plural) that Jerry Jones paid off McIver not to cooperate with the authorities. To you, the word of JJ, Irvin, and McIver is stronger than the newspaper's story. Then you are a fool. JJ, Irvin and McIver are not going to admit to obstructing justice. To do so would be to sentence themselves to jail. Of course they are going to deny the payment. The DMN, on the other hand, has no reason to make up this story.

You think maybe Dallas will wear the double-star blue unis for this game?

It may be the only time EVER the Commanders would wear the road-white unis in Texas Stadium.

The Boys did it last year for the Green Bay game, and it worked out well.

Case in point.
Maybe if you press your hands a little tighter to your ears, you won't have to the bad things the meanies are saying about your idol. Other people might want to know what a scumbag he and JJ are.

Maybe if you press them over your eyes you will not have to see the Emails your "tight end" sends around town.

But then again ...... that goes right along with your teams "history"

so what? is mike irvin on this team?
no Commander player has ever had any personal problems?
does it matter when we're kicking your team's butts again?
why bring this up when it has nothing to do with playing football?
you're desperate man.

LOL

Check my History. I'm not a Michael Irvin fan. I already brought up his character flaws. You're the one blind to Dexter Manley's flaws.

12 million in debt because of drugs. Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones is impressed. That's how bad that is.

I'd be willing to bet that those 'scumbags' have contributed far more to society than yourself. If what you're insinuating did indeed happen, it was simply a business decision on Jerry's part, and if the two sides agreed to it, then deeming Jerry a 'scumbag' is crossing the line.

Irvin may have been a 'scumbag' in many people's eyes at one point, but the man has devoted the rest of his life to improving himself and helping those around him. 'Inspirational' is a more fitting term for Irvin these days.

Your post reeks of jealousy, and if this is the best you can do, you would do well to avoid this thread.

You might want to read the first post in this thread to see why I am “bringing this up.”

Ah, now I know who Hostile is: Ari Fleischer. Run out of arguments, so you try to deflect attention. Dexter Manley was an illiterate drug abuser. I probably feel a little bit sorrier for him than the average illiterate drug abuser because he played for the Commanders. But I’m not trying to pretend that his flaws were concocted in a media conspiracy.

Let me quote that again.

A “business decision?” A “business decision?” Since when is breaking the law justified as a business decision?

Irvin may have changed his ways in the last few years, I don’t know, but some of those years should have been spent behind bars. The justice system is about punishment as well as rehabilitation.

Be real careful about political references on this forum. Read our guidelines. You get a pass because it is me you are responding to. Keep politics in the Political Zone. There won't be a 2nd pass.

No, you're just the one who read the initial post and decided to spin control your way into some other topic while turning a blind eye to Michael Westbrook's assault on a teammate.

Be that as it may, how about you tell me about the peanuts. :D

Where did Jerry Jones break the law?

He brokered a decision between two men that had an altercation. It happens quite often without any legal ramifications whatsoever. Neither one wished to press charges. Did Jerry hold a knife to McIver's throat too?

Apparently our country's legal system disagrees with you.

Hos I am so pumped up over this game that I am drinkin' two Yahoo chocolate drinks at a time. I am romancing two women at a time. I am yelling at the kids to stay off of the lawn even when there are no kids in sight!
I have been waiting for this all year.
Yeah, they better run after the game. We ain't taking no prisoners (sorry about the double negatives and the bad grammar Reality)l!!!

Incidentally and coincidentally and historically, closer to home, we had the Menard County War. Yeah, sheep herders and cow herders in the 1880s or '90s, ah believe. Lots of bloodshed. Lots of cut fences, lots of retribution between men from the Junction and Menard, Texas, area.
If it was a shorter war than Lincoln County it was certainly bloodier. Texas style.
Stories of men hanging from mesquite trees and mens burnt in homes.
As if the area was not big enough to accommodate both sheep and cows.
Luckily, Dag Hammarskjöld and Bernard Baruch (and maybe Jimma Carter) mediated the war and peace reigned supreme and there was peace in the valley.

Bring on them Commanders!! I am ready!!!!!!!

(I feel a tightening in my chest and the room is spinning, but I will be OK by gametime, Hos. I will do it for you . . . .)

Without knowing the specifics of Texas law, I can't be sure. But I would suspect that paying McIver to downplay the situation with the Dallas police would be obstruction of justice.

Out of court settlements are not illegal my friend.
Now quit whining about your sorry football team and behold the 2008 juggernaut that is the Dallas Cowboys.
