La'el Collins

Back injuries will reoccur. Especially in Tyron's case. His back will not magically get better, the anatomy of the disc and back with such a heavy human being will not allow that. Tyron just needs to work on his core conditioning over the offseason and recuperate. His back will often act up.

A good offseason will do wonders for him if our trainers and Physical Therapists are worth their $$.

Most or all of the games Tyron missed were not due to his back, IIRC.

His groin and now knee have been the main problems.

I think you are correct. Alot of my low back patients seem to adopt faulty body mechanics when they have low back issues that affect the lower extremities. Tend to accumulate injuries that way.

Maybe I am wrong! Who knows, just thoughts.

He's surpassed 2014 Doug Free, so he's the least of our worries right now at OT.
Let's focus on WRx2, LB, TE, S, HC, OC, DC, GM

We need to find the replacement for Tyron Smith before La'el
Very true.

That is a pretty big concern actually. Smith is going to be perpetually damaged unless something dramatic happens.

Another thing is that if they are going to open the vault to pay Zack Martin, they need to quit being stubborn and have him prepared to be an emergency tackle. There is no way you can possibly say he is not capable of doing it better than the rest of the trash we have had as reserves.

You guys thought Lael played well? The edge was constantly getting destroyed. Top oline next season? Probably not.

The site of an injuries is often not at the root cause of the problem. IE, it's very possible knee and groin issues (calf, foot and ankle issues too) are related to problems with the back and/or hips. This isn't the gospel, but it's possible.

Despite all the awards, I just don't have much faith in this S&C staff. When I see things like static stretching before games, I cringe at the lack of understanding or acceptance of current methodology and research. Our entire organization is stuck in the sport stone ages in every way.

Progressed very very nicely as the season went on imo.
Was always a top grader but his pass pro is getting way better.
Another off season and he should be a strength of this team.
A positive from a lost season?
Yep. I agree 100%. We need better depth across the Oline. Especially at the backup tackle positions.

Yes, I'm concerned about that also.

I think they might be lifting too heavy.

I have a friend that had back problems for a long time. He had been into power lifting at one time. He eventually started stretching his hamstrings and his back problem was resolved.

Since then I've convinced two people in my family to try stretching their their hamstrings and their back problems went away also.

I think keeping Cooper is a near must as long as the contract is reasonable. It’s imperative we keep continuity up front

There are a lot of positives from this season and stuff to build on. Don't let the doom and gloom sentiment in the air take that away.

Giving Tyron an off season to recuperate and resigning Cooper will give us a top 3 offensive line next season. There certainly are a lot of pieces to build on.

Collins played well, but I expected him to be a better Olineman then what he is at this point. Lawrence was probably the biggest positive from this year. Then maybe the rookie corner?

Other then that, what positives do you see because I am not seeing any others. And if you think the Oline is getting better you are sorely mistaken. T Smith is fading fast with his back. He has maybe one year left at most I would give. How are we going to replace him?

Cooper is a JAG. Can go out in FA and find a guy like that. If he is cheap then keep him.
