I'm not saying he's CP3 or Nash but he has good quickness to penetrate, a halfway decent outside shot, and now three All Stars to play alongside & pad his assist numbers. You see how much better Rondo looked when he had some better players around him...I expect Chalmers to improve also (not to All-Star proportions, though).
EDIT: BTW, your sig is on point! TW needs to get back to what made him great in the first place & stop messing w/ what once was near perfection on the golf course!
Yes, Rondo early on benefited from playing alongside Pierce, Allen, and Garnett. But that's gone to the wayside as those players have aged, and Rondo stepped his game up to another level. He's picked up the slack. And even then, when you watched Rondo play, the talent was there. He made some dumb mistakes and needed to be reigned in, and that's where Doc came in to play. I don't see the same thing with Chalmers. Granted, I've only watched Chalmers a handful of times the past year, too, so I could easily be off in my assessment of him. But Chalmers is just a guy. You can tell that by watching him play. Rondo was never really that. He had the talent, he just didn't put it together early on. He's worked on his shot, became a better decision maker. Miami doesn't need Chalmers to do anything, really, other than be a guy who can knock down open shots. They can get by easily with Wade and/or James being the primary ballhandler/facilitator. But Chalmer's isn't anything special. He just is a guy who can hit some perimeter shots w/o needing a ton of touches. That's what Miami needs; but he's not someone who'd fetch anything notable in terms of market value/trade value.
The putter switch was odd. I wonder if Nike sort of "forced it" upon him. Ultimately, Tiger wouldn't make the switch to that putter if he didn't feel confident in it... but I wonder if it was some sort of loyalty thing, Nike has stuck by him throughout this scandal (though, really, what choice do they have). His other sponsors have dropped him. I wonder if this was Tiger's way of showing gratitude.
I also think he's lost some of his confidence with his putting. I think the switch also had something to do with him just trying something new to see if it worked. The problem is with him; not the putter. He'll get it figured out. He's a phenomenal putter. And I expect the SC to be back in the bag for the PGA Championship; he went back to it at the Open.
