The Nuggets clearly ran out of gas, they were extremely flat and havent played well the last few games.

Karl got out coached as well, the Lakers adjusted to what Denver was doing defensively and Denver didnt have any adjustments on offense or defense.

The whole series they left Nene and K-Mart at the top of the key where the Lakers just let them sit by themselves so they could play 5 on 4 and really pack things in. It was their strategy from game 1 to game 6 and Karl never mixed anything up to take advantage or counter it.

Good year Nuggets!
Go Eastern Conference!

the Lakers will be paper champs this year cause KG got hurt.

So are the Steelers "paper champs" because Brady got hurt?

Every year, in every major sport, including college football, someone can say the same thing about the current champ. Because every year, some one important gets hurt somewhere along the line. If we are to put an asterisk beside every trophy ever won because "so and so got hurt on the other team", then EVERY trophy ever won would have an asterisk beside it.

Listen, Kobe and the Lakers are polarizing. Either you love 'em or you hate 'em. Sound familiar?????? Cowboy fans, of all people, should be the LAST people to hate on a team simply because their perennially good and "win too much". Because Dallas, the Yankees and Jeff Gordon are the POSTER BOYS for such behavior from the haters. For no good reason besides envy and spite, they just hate on a quality franchise.

This Laker team now has a clear path to another trophy. And, if/when they get it, it's because they're the best team in the NBA. You site KG being hurt as the only reason the Lakers will win it. What about LeBron? He was the MVP, ALL-WORLD, Man-amongst-Boys MONSTER this year. He didn't get hurt?!?!? What's the story now?

If/when Kobe wins this ring, his perch as one of the all-time-greatest-ever will be solidified. Because this accomplishment will be in his "post-Shaq" era, several years removed. He is doing what LeBron James has yet to do.......literally carrying a team on his shoulders to a championship. Paul Peirce, for all he thinks about himself, couldn't do it either. And Shaq hasn't won a ring w/o Kobe and Phil either. What Kobe is doing at this stage of his career is a lot closer to Jordan than not. Closer indeed than LeBron James......................so far.

Brady and the Pats weren't defending champs.

That's a good point and I shouldn't have overlooked that dynamic.

None the less, blaming "the other guys injury" for a team winning a Trophy? I stand by the rest of my post.

One concession I'll make along these lines are the two years that the Houston Rockets won the Title in the 90's. Just so happens those were the two years that Jordan semi-retired and tried his hand at baseball. The Bulls just won three in a row. And after Mike returned, they won another three in a row. Those back-to-back Houston trophys, suspiciously, were sandwiched between those six Chicago trophys.

Nothing against the Rockets. I used to live in Houston and I was happy for Hakeem and Rudy and the gang. But THAT was so obvious that it was glaring!

I have a list of 50 negative reasons why the Packers won that one Super Bowl with Favre. Every time the Eagles do ANYTHING good, I'm loaded for bear with reasons why its counterfeit and undeserving. So I do the same thing I guess as well. But to say the only reason why the Lakers have a shot is because KG got hurt, I think that's a huge reach...........
