Oh, he didn't whine and cry about the trade that Stern nixed?
No, Roy, he didn't.

It was the the Cleveland GM (and supposedly a couple of other "small market GMs" who whined when the trade went down.

Now after the trade fell through, then Cuban offered an explanation why. But not beforehand.
There is a huge difference there.

Please.. he didn't want the deal to happen. If you don't think he expressed his opinion to the other owners and the league before Stern made his decision you're crazy.

He didn't want the deal to happen because he doesn't want LA to take the title from them. Fair enough, but still a pathetic move.

He claims its because he wants small market teams to be able to keep their stars. Bull. Now that they didn't make this trade, they are not only going to lose their star, but get nothing in return for him either when he walks.

So....what you are saying is all speculation. And based on your speculation as being fact, he was whiner. You had his phone tapped or something, I suppose.

I thought the deal should have gone through. If someone didn't want it to go through, that's fine. They have a total right to not want something to happen.
But saying that Cuban, in particular, tried to undermine the process is purely speculation.

He came out and stated that he was against it. Its a league owned team.

Do the math.

BTW, you saying he didn't whine about it and make his opinion known to the league and to other owners before the trade was nixed is speculation as well. Im just being realistic. He didn't want it to go down because he feared the competition it would bring his team. Bottom line. Its not about small market teams at all, because even John John in his beanbag chair eating cheetos knows that by not being allowed to trade CP3 and get some talent in return, its hurting that team more than helping because he'll just walk when his contract is up anyway and then they'll get nothing for losing him.

I love how you guys think Cuban could actually sway Stern into stopping this trade.

Exactly. David Stern HATES Mark Cuban, no way he would allow him to effect a decision for him.

It appears someone is still sore about Lebron getting owned in the finals.

Reports out of LA is that Kobe is quite unhappy with the Lakers trading Odom. Odom apparently requested a trade after they tried to deal him to New Orleans.

I think Kobe is just being a good teammate.

Kobe has to be happy that they are eventually going to get Howard.

He won't be happy if we give up both bigs.

Also can people please stop saying Dallas isn't a threat to repeat? People act like Chandler is prime Shaq lol.

Dallas is stacked.

J-Kidd/Roddy B.
VC/Terry
Matrix/Rudy
Dirk/LO
Haywood/Mahimi

Dallas is more of a threat now with Odom but Chandler was amazing for us down the stretch.

The 1 year Dallas stops allowing easy patios they win the NBA title.

I don't like our chances without him but we'll still be a threat.

Well the 1 thing that would worry me about Lamar is he's pretty damaged physiologically. He's been through some tough **** in his career. Losing his son obviously was the toughest and he wasn't treated fairly at all by the team he helped win 2 titles. He was crushed by the trade he was crying on a radio show. I feel bad for him. He's a really good player though when his mind is right. I'm just glad we didn't trade him to some rebuilding team at least he has a legit shot at winning ring #3.

I was trying to tell these guys that Odum to Dallas did not really come up until AFTER the CP3 deal was nixed. They were not even pursuing Odom but seized the opportunity when it presented itself.

That's how I see it.
It looks better today than two days ago.

You're correct. After the 2nd CP3 deal fell apart, Odom requested to be traded and the Lakers moved him to Dallas.

Lakers frantically scrambling to make moves after getting their *** swept by the Mavs last season. D Will is gonna end up in Dallas now. We're playing chess and winning here. Picked up Odom for absolutely nothing.

Also, continue to LOL @ any Lakers fans who also root for the Cowboys. If you're not a hot girl that's just dumb and cute, then do not get on message boards and try to talk sports. You have zero credibility as a human. I'm sure you're also a Yankees fan.
