Lamarcus Joyner getting released

He is 30 years old and in 95 career games he has 4 INT's 33 PD's. He is not much of an upgrade.

I rather they FINALLY bring Tre Boston in and try to figure out why an above-average FS keeps playing on basically 1 year deals. 15 picks vs. Joyner’s 4.

Wouldn't you say he's had more success? what player in secondary our has more success or experience?
I would say his team has had more success, and really just one season. The only other year he played in the playoffs the team was 1 and done.

As for him personally, he has only been a full time starter in 2 of his 7 seasons. He has only intercepted a pass in 2 of his 7 seasons.

As for him having more experience than DBs on the Cowboys, yes, that's true, but so does Jeff Heath. The guy who has been in the league longer isn't necessarily the better player.

All this said, I don't really know if he is better or not, but if he is the difference is subtle. There certainly isn't anything to distinguish him as noticeably better.

I would love Jeff back, just not as a starter, I would say Joyner is an option as well, he doesn't need to start, you need corners. and we can kill the interception thing ,we went through this with Jones, that not some great measure of a db.

If we are talking about depth, I would certainly agree Joyner is worth a look. My point was never that he couldn't play a role on the Cowboys. I was just talking about the thought that he was clearly an upgrade.

he's an upgrade in our secondary, he has position flex, the guys we have now, have shown nothing and probably on the way out.

He does have position flex, I'll grant you that. Otherwise, I'm not sure there is anything that clearly shows him to be an upgrade. With there being no stats or awards that point to it, it would take getting him on the team and seeing him perform with the Cowboys to really have a feel for it.

anthony brown (under contract) and diggs will be here but I dont disagree. awuzi is toast. I think they hang onto robinson. Lewis is toast and i wish Woods was toast but Im afraid the cowboys will resign him. I may be missing 1 but we need 3 new bloods from the draft and possibly 1 more beyond that in FA
