As much as we throw the ball just giving it to Murray on occasion is enough of a change of pace. Always surprises me anyway .......

Not interested in trading for a RB when the upcoming draft if full of them. Not interested in a change of pace RB.I want one that can get yards regardless of running styles and one that can carry the load as a starter if need be.

Can't say I blame you.

Yeah, he can play DL. I doubt if he can play it well.
The 'can he play DL' line is getting pretty old. Can't you come up with anything slightly more original?

It's not getting any older than watching our DL get blown up every week. While it might not be original, the point of continuing to post that is we don't need to put resources into a backup RB when we already have one and we don't run the ball. Unless we do everything possible to improve our defense between now and September.

I don't think the 49ers will have that much of a crowded backfield when the season starts. They will probably shock everyone and cut Frank Gore who turns 31 next month.

We got 25 picks in the 7th... surely we can find a cheaper younger option..

The 49ers have a very crowded backfield, and LaMichael James hasn't seen much playing time in SF. The word at ESPN is that SF is shopping him, http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...49ers-shopping-little-used-rb-lamichael-james.

Philly picked up Sproles. What would you give up to bring in LaMichael James as our change of pace back and insurance against Dunbar's injury. Certainly, James comes in with much more fanfare than Dunbar and has some success as a return man.

Would the big play RB, who was a 2nd round pick in 2012 be worth a 4th or 5th round draft pick? I'm sure everyone would love a great deal and would say, "offer them one of our 7ths," but I don't think that's realistic.

I'd take a chance on a guy like Henry Josey in the 7th.

The 'can he play DL' line is getting pretty old. Can't you come up with anything slightly more original? Yeah, we all get it that the DL was decimated with injury last year and DL is a need. But, it is not the one and only need which trumps everything. Hopefully, Crawford and Bass stay healthy and play well. And the team brought in Melton, Mincey, and McClain.

What, are we supposed to draft 10 DL and bring in nothing but FA DL just to make you happy? Are you going to moan and groan on draft day when we pass on this year's "Sharif?"

Awe.

The kid really benefitted from playing in the wide open Ducks attack. He hasn't shown much in the NFL but I don't think he has been properly utilized either. The 9ers are a power running team and James needs to be put into space. Might be worth a look but I wouldn't give up much for him.

I'd prefer a bigger, bruising back who could invigorate the offense while wearing down the defense.

Give me half of this guy and I'll be happy.

Great point. Thus team has needed s big bruiser RB for several years. One if those RBs that punishes the defense and looks tie fir contact .

2 answer the Threads title, yes he is a running back. I believe he can also handle some return duties.

Lets get T.O. to go talk to him so he'll be even more unhappy and keep our draft picks then sit back and watch Harblow blow up that locker room this year and loose the team.
